Fez Caps Off XBLA Charts

Indie darling Fez just release last Friday, but already this puzzle platformer as risen to the top of Xbox Live’s downloadable charts.

According to Major Nelson the top XBLA downloads for last week are as follows:

  1. Fez
  2. Skullgirls
  3. I Am Alive
  4. Pinball FX2
  5. Gotham City Impostors
  6. Castle Crashers
  7. Fruit Ninja Kinect
  8. South Park: Tenorman’s Revenge
  9. Trials HD
  10. Toy Soldiers: Cold War

It’s kind of crazy that Castle Crasher still sits so high on that list. How many of those games have you played? Have you downloaded Fez yet? What do you think? If you're still on the fence, check out our review to find out why you should give this goofy little title a shot.

  • Castle crashers is still up there, wow. That was such a fun little game I use to play with my friends.
  • Downloaded it the other day and I'm enjoying the heck out of Fez! Hope everyone at least gives that one a try.

  • I love the living crap out of Castle Crashers (and Fez for that matter). Trials is really good, as is I am Alive and Toy Soldiers is interesting if nothing else. I haven't gotten to try out Skullgirls yet, but seriously, Fez is blowing my freaking mind.

I love The Behemoth and I am really happy to see them succeed so constantly like this. Grats to them, and Grats to Phil Fish and the whole team at Polytron for Fez.

  • Believe the hype.  Fez is awesome.  If you haven't played it yet, do so as soon as possible.  I am really looking forward to seeing what kind of games Polytron will make in the future.

  • Man I still ain't beat castle crashers or the Bastion. I need to hurry and beat those already
  • Too bad. I'd like to play it but I can't put down my Japanese games.
  • I really wanna check it out. The game looks pretty interesting. Also, inb4 someone b*tches about the spelling error on the front page of this article. Knowing Ben, It was probably on purpose. :D
  • Sadly, I've played none of these games. I'd either have to go out and buy a points card, or convince my parent to charge some money on a card. Unfortunately, I'm too lazy to go to the Walgreens down my street, and my parents would never charge their card on the internet for no reason :/
  • Meh. I'd be happier if Fish wasn't such a complete hipster about the whole game industry and his totally uncalled for hate against Japanese developers. Also it really is amazing that there are still people out there that haven't bought Castle Crashers, considering how long it has been on the top ten.
  • Gotham City Impostors 5, & South Park: Tenorman’s Revenge 8???
  • People are still buying Castle Crashers? That's f***in crazy. Also, SKULLGIRLS IS AMAZING!

  • I have Gotham City Imposters, very fun game.

I might pick up some more of these soon.

  • Loved the demo. cannot wait to get this game.deserves the money.

  • wtf is wrong with Ben's grammar? I swear he always has a bunch of typos.
  • Trials Evolution ia on its way (;

  • Still insane how Castle Crashers is still up there lol

  • Nice to know i wasnt the only one who picked up Skullgirls
  • I've played all of those games with the exceptions of Skullgirls (not feeling a fighter right now), Fruit Ninja (too lazy to move furniture), and South Park (waiting for Obsidian's game).

I just beat Fez yesterday, and what an amazing game. I really liked how many old school NES-era references they were able to squeeze in there, my favorite being the faithfully created "glitches" that made me want to take my game out and blow on it. Great ending, too; I'll just pretend that was the real ending to Mass Effect 3.
