Call Of Duty Reveal Likely Coming Next Month

It seems Activision isn't waiting for E3 to unveil its latest Call of Duty title. A retail source snapped a photo of the purported reveal date.

Kotaku obtained the photo in question, showing the date of May 2, 2012. This is likely the date when the publisher will reveal the game and not the official release date. Call of Duty titles have traditionally been released in the fall.

Activision declined to comment on the photo. If true, we still don't know if this is a sequel to Black Ops. Earlier this year, Amazon France posted a listing for Black Ops 2, which was later taken down.

  • New year "new" Call of Duty whats new.
  • Return for debriefing? Even for CoD that's really generic.
  • A day after 343 announces Halo 4's release date. I smell a challenge.
  • i would love a MW4.
  • Introducing Call of Duty: Call of Duty. The bold new direction of the franchise is coming to a November near you.
  • I, for some reason, love hearing about what the next game in this series is every year, even though I don't particularly like the games.
  • obviously it's a sequel of some kind. All signs point to Black Ops 2 considering Treyarch is handling it not Infinity Ward and it says "Return for debriefing". I for one am excited for the new game. The Call of Duty franchise is still fun to play regardless of the recycled formula. I want to be entertained and Call of Duty hasn't failed me yet for some shallow fun.
  • And this is news how, everyone already knew about this game before MW3 came out (just not the name). Another year, another CoD.
  • I assume it will be a graphically impressive FPS, filled to the brim with astonishing set pieces and a multinational team of soldiers battling against terrorists from some Eastern European or Middle-Eastern nation. Also, there will be multi-player with RPG-like character progression focused on unlocking new weapons, weapon mods, and perks.
  • Nothing new hear... moving on
  • If only Call of Duty did something a bit more... fresh with the series. Still fun and all, but honestly is another really "needed"? With all the MW3 DLC and stuff, I don't really think another one is necessary.
  • LAME!!!! Madden 2013..I mean COD 2013...I mean Black Ops 2...old....tired.............zzzzzzzzz.
  • You know I am a bit excited to see what this new CoD has in store for us. :) Looking forward to the reveal.
  • They need to release a COD game that is completely dedicated to Zombies. A zombie single player campaign, zombie multiplayer(Black-ops style), and standard issue multiplayer with all the modes people know and love. They could recycle the same multiplayer from MW3 and nobody would care. That's why I think a zombie-based single player would make the series seem like it was doing something different. What do you guys think? Good or bad, I want to hear your opinions and suggestions.
  • I hope it is black ops 2. I am still playing black ops now. It is my favorite entry in the series.
  • OMG, a new COD!

  • Oh look, another sequel...
  • give me zombies. multiple zombie maps. on the disc. more than 2 and an arcade. i want at least 5 to start with. hell, gimme a zombie story and survival. other wise, no buy.

  • You are going to destroy all the respect I have for CoD if you keep at this, Activision. Give it a rest for a year, then watch the sales numbers explode the year after, after we build the appetite for a new game. I barely got anything out of MW3...
  • *sigh* So it seems we have another "all new" CoD game coming out... shocker.
