Bond Is Back In New Movie-Hopping Release

by Jeff Cork on Apr 18, 2012 at 04:07 AM

James Bond is coming back to theaters this fall with Skyfall, the series' 23rd installment. It should come as no surprise that Activision is releasing a new 007 game to mark the event. What's interesting about the game, 007 Legends, is how it's not just aping the plot of Bond's latest adventure.

In 007 Legends, players will be able to recreate moments from six different Bond flicks, including Skyfall. In addition to the game's campaign missions, players will be able to play through Mi6 Ops missions, which provide shorter challenges with online leaderboards. The game will also support four-player splitscreen.

"To honor 50 years of the world's top secret agent, 007 Legends offers a collection of his most famed moments in the smartest and most treacherous Bond game yet," said David Oxford, executive vice president at Activision Publishing. "Creating a video game storyline that ties together six popular, yet very different, Bond movie narratives can be challenging, but together with EON Productions, our developer Eurocom has pulled it off to create an homage that we think will be a unique and highly entertaining Bond video game."

You might remember Eurocom for its work on GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, the PS2 version of Quantum of Solace, and James Bond 007: Nightfire.

The game is slated for a fall release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
