The lights are on
Apple could be creating its own game console for this year if a recent rumor is correct.
Website cultofmac.com says that its sources say that Apple plans to release its own TV set in 2012 with "an iTunes-integrated touchscreen remote and Siri-like voice command technology." This TV will also come with a video-game console whose interface relies on touch and Kinect-like motion controls.
Whether this has anything to do with Apple CEO Tim Cook's recent visit to Valve, Steam on this Apple console, or if it's related to Valve's own console dreams is unknown.

A new console, maybe. Requiring the purchase of a Tv, makes it unlikely for me to buy.
A quarter of the features the other consoles have and only for triple the price! It's so shiny!
Not buying. I personally don't care for Apple and do not want them to potentially harm a company whose products I do care about.
iSteam! Could it be any better?
Just 600 bucks.
Remember the Apple Pippin. YEAH THAT'S RIGHT!
valve and apple together in a console?
i've never waited in line to be first for a product, but if this is true, that might change.
I'd like to announce that I am developing a console.
i f***ing hate apple but i love steam i wish they wouldnt partner with apple but watev if steam makes a console ill buy it
Lol touch and Kinect like motion controls. If it doesn't come with a controller there's no way it will compete with traditional gaming consoles. Shoot even the Wii had a controller. I call this rumor false.
I hope this is true. I would check it out. I t would be nice to have this sitting next to my ps3!
How much ? 1500$ just for a console with the apple logo.
Ehh Until I see it, and read some review's after it's been out I'll pay more attention.
I wouldn't buy it i dont trust apple.
i knew it. who wants to bet that this is called the iplay.
I could see it becoming a second Wii. Nothing but casual titles and , mini-game compilations, with a cheap gimmick tying the whole thing together. Except that the apple console wouldn't have reliable first party IP's like Mario and Zelda. Please let this just be a rumor.
... I don't really want iTunes on my console.
I'm not going to lie, this rumored Apple console sounds pretty sweet and if it's not too expensive, I'll buy one.
If Apple made a console, then that means there's 5 console makers.
Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Valve, and now it might be Apple. I bet they're trying so see who gets more money than the other company..... Maybe........
"a video-game console whose interface relies on touch and kinect-like motion controls."
NO NO NO NO SOUNDS TERRIBLE
Enough with effing motion controls! They suck!
