Miyamoto Interested In Revisiting Link To The Past

by Kyle Hilliard on Apr 13, 2012 at 04:16 AM

Shigeru Miyamoto, the man who invented Zelda, recently said that he is interested in revisiting A Link to the Past in some capacity.

Miyamoto has already said publicly that he would like to see a Link to the Past remake on 3DS, but now it seems like he would like to do something new. "I think I'd be even more interested in creating something new maybe based on, or starting from, A Link To The Past," Miyamoto told Edge Magazine. "I think it's important to bring some really new software."

Miyamoto goes on to explain that while he doesn't have the time to oversee a game like that himself,  there are other game directors who could be suited for the job. He also said that there are other directors who he doesn't have full confidence in, and they would probably be better suited to produce a remake.

So, depending on the availability of game directors at Nintendo, we may see a new game based on A Link to the Past, or a remake, or nothing at all, which is probably the most likely scenario.
