The lights are on
Publisher Electronic Arts is hoping to cash in on the popularity of the "Fast and the Furious" films.
According to a Variety report, EA hired producer John Gatins and writer George Gatins to create a pitch for the movie to shop around Hollywood. According to the report, Warner Bros., Sony, and Paramount are said to be interested with Paramount being the current front-runner.
EA last released Need for Speed: The Run in November, which sold 700,000 copies in its first month in the U.S. alone.
Game Informer has contacted the publisher for comment on this report.

It should be called " Need for Furiously Fast Speed".
Well we don't ¬_¬ FFS
Seriously EA just stop, just stop.....
I actually think this would be awesome, provided they make it an actual movie about street racing, unlike Fast Five which, while being cool, still didn't satisfy my street-racing wants.
I had always thought that the Fast and furious games were based off of Need For Speed, anyway. It wouldn't be that big of a deal when if it comes out...
I think they already made this movie its called fast and the furious
I think there already is a need for speed movie. It is called cannonball run!
At least this'll probably be better than "The FP". Have Michael Bay do Need for Speed, and I'm in.
What an innovative idea...
I'd watch it!
Hmm. I was never a fan of the fast and the furious so... this is good for fans of the franchise I guess. I'm more interested in the Mass Effect movie that's supposedly coming out this year, though that was announced and then nothing has been heard about it since so I kind of doubt it will happen. I think the Mass Effect franchise could make a great movie though.
Weird. could be cool...
If this Need For Speed movie has a good story, good chracters, and clever writing I may just watch it.
Cool
There is hope; not going to get my hopes up, Just saying!
it could work
