Bethesda Re-Releasing Quake 4

Bethesda announced it's re-releasing Quake 4 later this June for a discounted price.

The game goes on sale for $19.99 on June 19 in North America and Europe. It's already available on Steam.

The original game was first released in 2005 through publisher Activision. It was developed by Raven Software in collaboration with id Software. Bethesda later acquired the rights to the game when parent company Zenimax Media purchased id Software.

  • Oh, has anyone done this before? Seems like an interesting way to make a quick buck from a previous publisher's spending.
  • GAAAHHH! ME WANT QUAKE 5!
  • Dude, thats hecka cool. Now I can get it!

  • aaaaaah ***

  • Will it be released on PS3!?!

I don't care what people say about it, I've played all the Quake games except for this one. Please let it be on PS3.

edit: Nevermind, according to Besthesda's blog, this is just a re-release for the 360. Seriously, screw you guys, I'm going home.
  • I just google'd the game, I can get it for £3.60 That's around $5, what's the point in this?
  • is that allowed? ha

  • I think I'm one of the few people that genuinely enjoyed Quake 4. It's a shame that I didn't get a chance to see how the multiplayer stacked up to Quake Arena's multiplayer.
  • Um....unless it comes with something worth paying $20 for I think I'll stick with buying the original since it's like 5 bucks pre-owned.

  • i still have mine from 2005 :)
  • Is this re-mastered or something?

  • Do NOT buy the 360 version of this game. The frame rate is god awful. If you really want it that bad get the PC version. Even if you don't have a top of the line rig this 7 year old game will still run much smoother than the console version.
  • was this game any good? i played quake 3 but not 4.

  • Does it include the Quake 2 disc?

  • lame. I loved Quake 4 but they should at least replace the textures (which are horrible by today's standard).

I'll stick to my retail version from 2005, thank you very much!

  • Ahh... good memories. This was my first 360 game and all I remember is being in awe during that first cutscene, those graphics were mind blowing at the time. Only got through the second mission though lol.

  • Hmmm, very interesting...Considering you can, right now, buy it from EB Games used for $4.99. Or you can get it off Ebay for even cheaper.
  • I've never played Quake but 20 bucks isn't a bad investment. I've spent muh mroe on much worse
  • 20 dollars???  No thanks.  This game was only so-so to begin with.  Pass.

  • PSH..for $20?

    No thanks.
