The lights are on
Capcom today announced Lost Planet 3, due out for PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360 early next year.
The third game uses Unreal Engine 3, and is being developed by Spark Unlimited, the team behind Turning Point: Fall of Liberty, Call of Duty: Finest Hour, and Legendary. Here are the plot details:
Lost Planet 3 introduces Jim, a rig pilot who leaves Earth to take on a hazardous but lucrative contract on E.D.N. III. Working for Neo-Venus Construction (NEVEC) who are preparing the planet for colonization, Jim joins his fellow pioneers at the Coronis base and begins surveying the uncharted terrain and obtaining samples of the planet’s energy supply – Thermal Energy.
With NEVEC’s existing Thermal Energy reserve running low the fate of the Coronis mission depends on the natural source of the energy supply being located. Realizing that this is a great opportunity for a huge pay-off and early ticket home to his family, Jim braves the risk of the treacherous environment and threat of the indigenous Akrid. Acting as a home away from home and boasting an array of tools that can assist Jim on the field, the utility rig provides Jim’s safety and is essential for not only his contract work but also his protection against the ever-changing climate.
Posted below is the debut trailer.
Pay $60... Run, shoot the glowing spot, grapple, shoot the glowing spot, skip cut-scene, shoot the glowing spot, trade-in to gamestop...
Very interesting, looking forward to it.
wow that actually looks really good... and nothing like the original two haha
How do you lose a planet 3 times!?
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.
If the Co-Op is half as fun as Lost Planet 2, I'm in
another terrible entry in a terrible series
I always love seeing mechs go against fuzzy animals.
Hmmm. I have the first but never got the chance to play it. Might have to now because this one looks good.
This looks good. Ihope it's actually good, and not descent like the first 2.
Jim the family man. Creative and exciting. I need to get around to playing the original I've been intrigued by it since it first came out.
The dude gives off a familiar sense, almost like Drake but not as cool. Never played any of them because the gameplay looked choppy.
Looks pretty decent.
I love Lost Planet, I just hope Crapcom doesn't *** this game up like they do with all their other games. Capcom really are turning into a piles of ***.
The Lost Planet games to me always looked okay but I never played any of them. Lost Planet 3 may change this if the game is good.
Its cool that they're making this game but its really got to hurt that they're not making Battlefront 3 by the looks of it
