Sony Cancels Qore Digital Magazine

Sony said today it will no longer create new episodes of its monthly interactive magazine Qore. This April episode will be the last.

"As the first interactive digital magazine on a game console, Qore provided an innovative mix of quality HD video and interactive content covering over 160 new games," Sony said. "With this April episode, Qore concludes its run on the PlayStation Network."

The show, which was co-produced by Future publishing, first began in June 2008. Qore was being offered through subscription or free to PlayStation Plus members.

A reason for the show's cancellation was not provided at this time.

  • I'm surprised it took this long.

  • qore LAME!

  • Doesn't matter to me. I thought it was boring and pointless because we got Gameinformer :D
  • Well that's not surprising. I think I might have looked at one when I got it with PlayStation Plus, but that's it

  • GAMEINFORMER 4 LIFE

  • GAMEINFORMER 4 LIFE
  • I liked getting free themes and the former host.
  • This is probably due to Sonys financial troubles. I believe we'll be seeing alot more scaling back from them in the coming year.
  • It was alright until they switched to that douch with the mohawk and stopped giving out free downloadable stuff the last couple months.

  • maybe game informer should make a ps3 magazine app
  • i never even really knew what qore WAS..i thought it was a web-series to be honest..shows how popular it was

  • Thats pretty sad. :/

  • I'm surprised it lasted this long. This will be the first of many significant changes we're going to be hearing about considering Sony just told investors that their losses are now going to be 6.4B rather than 2.7B and a billion of that is specifically because of additional losses in the gaming division. The announced 10K layoffs a few days before this announcement were a clear sign of desperate damage control. Look for additional studio closures throughout the year. I suspect the Vita's underperformance was the final nail in the coffin and business as usual will no longer be tolerated by their frustrated shareholders. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sony split up into several companies...
  • Saw it coming when Veronica left.

  • Mod
Man that sucks, I loved this show, though since Veronica Belmont left a few months back it has really not been that great, and it isn't just because she is a girl, she was a great host.
  • Funny...I always used the 360's show features, but always skipped out on the PS3's shows.  Not really sure the purpose it served.

  • Before looking at this article you could have offered me $1 million to tell you what Qore was and I wouldn't have been able to tell you....

  • What no those were awesome they were the place to go when there was new game coming that sounded interesting but wasn't getting much attention
