The lights are on
Alex O'Dwyer, a character animator at Rockstar Games, has an October 2012 release date listed for Grand Theft Auto V on his resume.
You can find O'Dwyer's LinkedIn account here, and his CV here, which contains the possible release date. This is by no means a confirmation of Grand Theft Auto V releasing in October, but it is a reasonable time frame for what will likely be one the biggest releases of the year, whatever year that may be.

Yessss plz plzz plzzzzzz
I hope so! And no matter what games were coming out near it, they couldn't hurt GTA sales!
OMG YES!!!
This has been delayed though. That's what I heard anyway. Apparently they don't even intend to be at E3 this year. I heard they have pushed it back to 2013. I wouldn't be surprised if they have, I mean remember the release for Grand Theft Auto IV. It was pushed back so many times. But I'd rather we have to wait on a load of setbacks then have them release it, and then have to release a buttload of patches. Too many patches ruins games. It ruined the Skyrim experience for me personally, because I was always waiting for a patch to stop the lag, by the time it came out I'd had enough and moved onto other games. They should take their time and release the full and complete package.
release for nascar was in late march. just proving that the dates given are not release dates but time periods this guy has worked on them
