Mass Effect 3 Character Importation Bug Fix Coming This Week

Alongside the free multiplayer additions coming next week, Bioware is also offering a series of bug fixes, which includes a fix for the character importation errors. Most of the other incidents seem like very specific isolated incidents that weren't widespread. The patch will be available on PC on the April 9, and Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on April 10. Here's the full list of fixes:

  • Fixed issues when in some cases Shepard’s customized facial features from ME1/ME2 may not be properly imported to ME3
  • Fixed an issue when quickly and repeatedly selecting to Resume a Save could result in Player Level reset and a potential locking of powers.
  • Fixed an issue when selecting Multiplayer in the Main Menu while under a poor network connection could result in an unresponsive state.
  • Fixed a potential crash while accessing an in-game terminal from Eden Prime level.
  • Fixed an issue when attempting to login while Server is down. It would display a Server Down message and accepting the Server Shutdown message would shut down the game.
  • Fixed a potential memory crash while loading a Quick Save of a custom FemShep.
  • Fixed an issue when restarting missions and acquiring an above max amount of weapon mods results in displayed debug text on-screen.
  • Fixed an issue when an unresponsive game state could occur during transition after the Conduit level.
  • Fixed an issue when DLC game saves can be accessed from an account without DLC if another account on the same computer has access to the related DLC. (PC Only)
  • Fixed an issue when saves from different accounts on the same computer may become locked if one account has access to DLC which the other account does not. (PC Only)
  • Fixed an issue when potentially the game could enter unresponsive state when transitioning from the Holding Docks area to the Normandy Docks area of the Citadel. (PS3 Only)

Now if they could only fix the bug where the game constantly reminds you that your powers cannot be used during cooldown.

  • THIS Week*
  • Or the eyelid glitch! Anyone else ever have their eyelids completely disappear during cinematics? An additional glitch that has happened to me is when Sheppard is paying attention to a moving character in the cinematic, his head stops tracking the moving character and stays looking away from the character even though the pacing character has returned to stand right in front of Shepard?
  • Well this will certainly fix the biggest plot-hole of why no one questioned why Shepard went through a complete facial reconstruction surgery or how anyone even recognized him.
  • Alright! Let there be gaming...

  • Main thing was the character importation. Glad they resolved that one pretty quickly.
  • I can play my female Shepards now! I didn't want to redo their faces.

  • Think it's a little late for that fix. And no multiplayer glitch fixes?
  • That really took way too long. I don't see why that wasn't fixed before they added a character who gave important information as DLC when he should've been in the game. Horrible. And I'm sad to see that it doesn't say that it fixed a bug where I can't complete a certain quest on the Citadel where I have to find footage for someone. :(
  • what about that stupid elevator glitch on the citadel
  • dis game is not selling because i am trying to sell my collectors edition and it is not selling. the reviews on amazon are too low
  • Considering this game is "all about importing your saves through the games", the fact that this feature was not working is pathetic. Perhaps Bioware should have fixed this instead of working on a half-a$$ horde mode.... *facepalm*
  • It's about time. :D

I'm happy that they cared enough to fix it though.

  • Sorry Kyle, but your powers cannot be used during cooldown.
  • Good thing that they are fixing these glitches, even though I haven't encountered any of them. Oh and Kyle, you do realize you can turn off those power cooldown messages in the options menu, right?

  • How did BioWare attract so many a**hole fans
  • yayyy babbyyy

  • Awesome, now I can finally start up another playthrough.

  • Thank you!

  • All you have to do to get rid of the power cooldown message is turn of tutorials in the options menu.
