Mass Effect 3 Character Importation Bug Fix Coming This Week

Alongside the free multiplayer additions coming next week, Bioware is also offering a series of bug fixes, which includes a fix for the character importation errors. Most of the other incidents seem like very specific isolated incidents that weren't widespread. The patch will be available on PC on the April 9, and Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on April 10. Here's the full list of fixes:

  • Fixed issues when in some cases Shepard’s customized facial features from ME1/ME2 may not be properly imported to ME3
  • Fixed an issue when quickly and repeatedly selecting to Resume a Save could result in Player Level reset and a potential locking of powers.
  • Fixed an issue when selecting Multiplayer in the Main Menu while under a poor network connection could result in an unresponsive state.
  • Fixed a potential crash while accessing an in-game terminal from Eden Prime level.
  • Fixed an issue when attempting to login while Server is down. It would display a Server Down message and accepting the Server Shutdown message would shut down the game.
  • Fixed a potential memory crash while loading a Quick Save of a custom FemShep.
  • Fixed an issue when restarting missions and acquiring an above max amount of weapon mods results in displayed debug text on-screen.
  • Fixed an issue when an unresponsive game state could occur during transition after the Conduit level.
  • Fixed an issue when DLC game saves can be accessed from an account without DLC if another account on the same computer has access to the related DLC. (PC Only)
  • Fixed an issue when saves from different accounts on the same computer may become locked if one account has access to DLC which the other account does not. (PC Only)
  • Fixed an issue when potentially the game could enter unresponsive state when transitioning from the Holding Docks area to the Normandy Docks area of the Citadel. (PS3 Only)

Now if they could only fix the bug where the game constantly reminds you that your powers cannot be used during cooldown.

  • I leik the part where Shepard eats cheez on his space boat. Velveta and provolone nice and cheedery.

  • Still appalling that that got through in the first place.
  • didnt know faces mattered. nor bugs.

  • Could they please fix the bug that causes my journal to get stuck on the Citadel: Improved Power Grid quest every time I open it up. Seriously, the Journal at least is one thing they didn't need to mess with.
  • Luckily I didn't have a problem importing my character.

  • Yeah, I remember a glitch in the demo where Sheppard's face suddenly looks like a big ugly ape's. . . oh yeah, that was by MY design. . .

  • I couldn't import my first two characters, had to remake them, but they looked pretty good.

  • The biggest question is: Did they fix the bug where Shepard gets stuck to the ground? For example, next to EDI.

  • Just beat this game again, i don't think i'll be touching the SP for a while so this is kind of useless to me, maybe after i get through my ME trilogy run i can find that update useful

  • Great fixes. Now I will have to play my first shepard again to get his face, which is fine. YOu can turn off hints in the options which will get rid of the powers message.

  • How about fixing the issue where it renders recruiting the Eclipse impossible?
  • There's only one glitch that I find annoying.  For some reason there is about a 30% chance when I go and talk to Joker that Shepard freezes in place, and I'm not able to move.  It has something to do with the slight drop in elevation that occurs when you reach his chair.  Not a big deal by any means, just annoying.  Thank you quick saves.

  • "Fixed an issue when quickly and repeatedly selecting to Resume a Save could result in Player Level reset and a potential locking of powers." "Fixed a potential memory crash while loading a Quick Save of a custom FemShep." 0.o Those are some pretty serious bugs. Anyways, loving Mass Effect 3 so far. Just got done with From Ashes. Really, really cool. Although I agree with GI: the content is so important to the overall background history of the Mass Effect canon that why Bioware decided to charge for it is duly controversial.
  • I hope this will be soon, ALL my GOOD saves on Mass effect 2, Including my "No man left behind" accounts were unable to be imported to mass effect 3. I had over 10 saves for mass effect 2 but I was only able to import 2, and they both sucked.

  • Fixed an issue when potentially the game could enter unresponsive state when transitioning from the Holding Docks area to the Normandy Docks area of the Citadel. (PS3 Only)

I ran into this a few times... lol

Sad I wont get to try the Resurgence DLC till I get my PS3 back from being fixed... :(
  • When I realized the new multiplayer DLC is free I was so happy! I love the multiplayer, its been keeping me busy while waiting for this patch to come through for my Shepard :D Thank you, Bioware!

  • How about a fix for the Vanguard multiplayer glitches that causes you to fly through the level and essentially forces you to quit the match? You know, one of those bugs they call... oh yeah, GAMEBREAKING.
  • Woah that's a lot of bugs
  • I had all the DLC for 360 and now I play Mass Effect on PC. This fix better not lock out the DLC-completed saves I get from masseffectsaves.com...

  • In the words of Mr. Burns:

    "Excellent."
