Comcast, Time Warner Don't Support HBO GO On Xbox 360

by Jim Reilly on Apr 06, 2012 at 12:00 PM

Update: Comcast issued a statement today saying its now onboard with HBO GO on Xbox Live.

Xfinity customers will be able to access their favorite HBO content in yet another way: through the Xbox 360. Starting early next week, customers will be able to access HBO GO on Xbox Live in addition to the number of ways HBO programming is already available for Xfinity TV customers, including on the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Android phones and tablets; through HBOGO.com and XfinityTV.com; on Video-On-Demand and of course, on linear TV!

To access HBO GO on Xbox Live, customers can use the same username and password that they use for Xfinity TV on Xbox. With these launches, it's been an exciting couple of weeks as we continue to branch out and deliver more ways for our customers to access their favorite entertainment.

We're committed to continually evolving the experience to bring customers more ways to search, find and watch the content they love in more places, on more devices.

Today's launch of HBO GO for Xbox 360 isn't going over too well for Comcast and Time Warner customers.

A HBO representative confirmed to Game Informer this afternoon that Comcast, Time Warner Cable, and Bright House are currently not supporting the HBO GO app on the console.

"It is HBO’s ongoing goal to provide our acclaimed programming to subscribers whenever and wherever they want it. We believe the launch of HBO GO on Xbox 360 is a huge step in accomplishing that and we are hopeful that all of our distributors will chose to support the service on the Xbox platform," a representative said.

"We encourage our subscribers at non-participating television providers to reach out to their provider and request that they add support for HBO GO on Xbox 360."
