The lights are on
Some fans were mad at Mass Effect 3's ending, and BioWare has capitulated and offered a free DLC download that offers a different ending to the game.
The change will occur through additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes. A general date of "summer" has been given for the DLC, but there are no timing specifics beyond that.
“We have re-prioritized our post-launch development efforts to provide the fans who want more closure with even more context and clarity to the ending of the game, in a way that will feel more personalized for each player,” said Casey Hudson, the series' executive producer.
The DLC's free status expires on April 12, 2014, and it requires an internet connection (naturally) and EA Origin registration.

I finished the game last night and loved the ending. kept me wanting more you know? sure there were some problems with it but over all it was an epic ending to a great series, and didn't they say that this wouldn't be the last time you see shepard?
Hell, the ending was fine to me...but, it's a FREE add-on. I'll get it just to see what they changed.
First off it doesn't offer a Different Ending.Anyone else think this DLC is crap? The endings suck and I don't see how extra cutscenes are going to help any?
This is so full of sh!t it defies description.
A very very classy move by Hudson, Bioware and EA. Look I don't care if most of the ending stays the same. AT LEAST explain how 99% of the universe won't go extinct in the melee. Also making sure EDI and the Geth survive no matter what would be a good idea but I won't be too picky. Just explain how the universe isn't doomed with the destruction of the ME Relays and our Citadel.
Y'know again… I'm going to retract my previous statement. The artistic vision of the ending Bioware chose, after getting rid of the main writer for the series (Like that wasn't MASSively noticable) was awful. Great additional cut scenes to fill in the holes. That should have been done from the get go. Showing how people got picked up by joker etc… that should have never been left out.
This will unfortunately be remembered as one of the biggest dud endings in video game history. So pat yourself on the back Bioware but ask yourself this, When ME2 ended did ANYONE really question whether or not the end was superior? Do they do that with three? Well at least you're like "artists" or what not?
I just want closure. That is all.
Free until April 12th 2014....good thing i have enough time to get it
Extra closure cant hurt I guess. As long as the ending stays the same, I guess it's more of a service to the fans than Bioware yielding and giving in. I'll think of it more like a director's cut of the same game: basically the same thing but with a tad bit more footage. Looking forward to it, but with cautious skepticism.
Finally, now we get to see the yellow ending instead of the other ones!
Gameinformer this is some of the worst journalism i have ever seen. Did you read the statement by bioware? Probably not because if you had you might have noticed they said expanding not changing. Get off your high horse.
I just want to know what happened to my squadmates and get a little clarity about the ending i got.
I just wish everyone would shut the cabbage up about all of this.
