The lights are on
Some fans were mad at Mass Effect 3's ending, and BioWare has capitulated and offered a free DLC download that offers a different ending to the game.
The change will occur through additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes. A general date of "summer" has been given for the DLC, but there are no timing specifics beyond that.
“We have re-prioritized our post-launch development efforts to provide the fans who want more closure with even more context and clarity to the ending of the game, in a way that will feel more personalized for each player,” said Casey Hudson, the series' executive producer.
The DLC's free status expires on April 12, 2014, and it requires an internet connection (naturally) and EA Origin registration.

Maybe us fans will shut up now
Thats all bullplop anyway. The fans that hated the ending hated it cause of the MANY plot holes and lack of closure on thier favorite characters. If they fix some of that then i know that most fans will atleast tolerate the new ending if not actually like it. I'm a practical and reason able person and i know i would like a little more closure and detail to the ending of one of gamings greatest franchises. So lets stop the "boohoo i hate the ending" rants and stop the Bioware apologist bull and sshow some faith in the company that brought us so many awesome games and game franchises.
I don't appreciate the author of this posts sarcasm. I come here for gaming news. anyway i tyhink its a good thing that bioware has listened to the majority of the fans
I don't know if I can wait that long for the ending.
Funny how everybody blames the crap ending on EA, when Bioware is the real culprit
hey game informer wonder if you should be shut down for saying false things like this.
straight from the bioware forums to prove you are wrong

A little surprised to see it's free. Of course the fans would b*tch if it wasn't.
Insult us more Game Informer. Please Insult ME more.
"Some fans were mad" is the understatement of the year GI. You should do better.
I don't think this is needed at all, I enjoyed the ending. Doesn't mean I still won't play it again though. I thought the game was terrific.
BioWare has rolled over like a good dog.
This should make those unhappy fans very happy but I'm going out on a limb and saying that they probably aren't going to be.
The ending was fine, not my favorite, but it was ok. It did lack a bit closure though, so I'm happy for this.
Its not a different ending. Just extended cutscenes.
