The lights are on
Retailer GameStop began testing a new trade-in program for Skylanders figures for cash or store credit.
The website Pixelitis first reported the news, saying that the value of the figures range from $2 to $8, and the amount of credit given per figure varies depending on availability. However, this trade-in program is not worldwide.
A company representative told Game Informer: "Like all companies we continually test new products and services and this is merely a regional test."
GameStop was unable to confirm which stores are part of the test at this time.
Disclaimer: Game Informer is owned by GameStop.

Used versions of these little money suckers may be the only way I'm going to be playing Skylanders. Sorry Spyro, but I'm not made of money.
I was always interested, but same thing. Also my son and daughter are too young, they will want to play with the figures.
Instead of trading them in, you could always try to mod the figure. I saw on a website where someone removed the figures from the base, added points and what not, and now they are actual action figures that you can play with/pose
well, Skylanders is big, it will most likely be successful.
Hmmm are they not selling them on value in game?
coming soon...Skylanders DRM
It looks like Gamestop will aid Activision in manipulating the children.
