The lights are on
BioWare today outlined its plan to bring fans closure to the ending of Mass Effect 3. The studio said the DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned.
A new FAQ was posted along with today's announcement that hopefully clears up any questions for fans. "Though we remain committed and are proud of the artistic choices we made in the main game, we are aware that there are some fans who would like more closure to Mass Effect 3," BioWare said.
"The goal of the DLC is not to provide a new ending to the game, rather to offer fans additional context and answers to the end of Commander Shepard’s story."
Additionally, BioWare said it "strongly believes in the team’s artistic vision for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise."
The extended ending DLC is free and out this summer.
In other words, take it or leave it.
i love how they still pretend that it's just "some people who would like more closure to Mass Effect 3."
According to one poll i saw, 58% of people hated the ending, and this does not even speak for the people ranging from extremely less than satisfied to people wanting any closure whatsoever on the things they have spent three games looking forward to.
Whatever, I don't even care anymore. EA, Bioware, and Casey Hudson in particular have gone way down in my book.
I was willing to defend their choice of ending...until I ACTUALLY finished the game. I'm glad to see there will be more of an ending other than "We had no freaking idea how to end it so...crap on this"
glad to hear Bioware has found a way to address fan concerns without bending to harassment. You want more explanation? That's fine but we're not redoing what we spent time creating in the first place
I don't mind this, honestly.
Honestly I am happy that they decided to go this route. Even though I have my dissapointments with the ending I think just expanding on the existing story is the best way for Bioware to go.
That's what the allies said after Poland, too.
