Rock Band Blitz Announced

The next Rock Band game from Harmonix doesn't use instruments.

Dubbed Rock Band Blitz, the game is a call back to the developer's earlier music titles: Frequency and Amplitude. It's coming out this summer for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.

The game comes with 25 songs, which are playable in Rock Band 3. Additionally, all of the imported and downloaded Rock Band songs on your console are also compatible.

Check out G4 for the trailer. We'll have our impressions from the game posted tomorrow morning.

Comments
  • I trust that Harmonix knows what they are doing and we should keep an eye out on this game

  • ... Doesn't use instruments? Lolwut?
  • Cool! I love Frequency and Amplitude.
  • We need more Avenged Sevenfold in music games. They are one of the best bands out there.

R.I.P. James "The Rev" Sullivan :(
Also, we need ALOT more As I Lay Dying
  • Can't wait to see the track list.
  • This is cool. But I really wish it was just a new Frequency or Amplitude. I really hope its not limited to rock music, my favorite tracks from Frequency and Amplitude were the electronic ones.
  • I am instantly onboard with this. Playing all four tracks at once sounds like some great insane arcadey action.
  • This sounds awesome!

  • If it's like Amplitude and Frequency, plus I can use the downloaded tracks I already have, there's no reason why I wouldn't pick this game up.
  • Uhh, sure... sounds fun Harmonix...

  • Sweet, especially the DLC situation. Time to download me some Rishloo tracks.
  • I demand Freezpop be in this game!!!
  • I was interested during the trailer, but once i heard pumped up kicks, I was just disgusted. I hate that song
  • I love Harmonix so I will be getting this the day it comes out. Hopefully we get some Muse and Radiohead but I'm not going to hold my breath on it.

EDIT: OMG METAL HEALTH!! JESSIES GIRL!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I WANT IT NOW!
  • i may have to get this just because it resembles amplitude...

  • the rise and fall of the music gaming genre
  • Ooh, well I really liked Amplitude so this will be a welcome addition. =D

  • "doesn't use instruments" - then what the hell does it use? Are we back to the controller with music games XD
  • So what's the point of calling it rock band if you're not gonna use instruments? What's up with that?

  • No instruments? Not interested.
