Ninja Gaiden 3's First DLC Is Available Now

Ninja Gaiden's first batch of downloadable content is available, but you won't find and new story content. Instead it features new weapons for both single player and multiplayer, as well as new outfits, ninja trials, and a new multiplayer map. On April 24, a new Ultimate Ninja difficulty will also become available, and it will be free until May 24. The multiplayer level cap has also been raised.

All the DLC is available to purchase separately, or you can buy the content pack that contains everything for $9.99. Check out the trailer and screens below to see all the new content in action.

  • Cowboy...Ninjas?!?!?

  • is there a dlc that magically makes the game better?
  • Right on time

  • Not surprising that the dlc doesn't include any story content. From what I hear, the game barely has story to begin with.
  • Oh, I know, how about NOT removing all the stuff that used to come bundled with previous Ninja Gaiden games, and then trying to sell them separately as DLC!! No, no, it would be too much to ask that our Ninja Gaiden games come with the content already unlocked on the disk, wouldn't it?

When I heard that they launched the game with only one weapon, I made the choice not to buy it. When I heard they were then trying to sell the weapons as DLC, I made sure to tell others not to buy it. When Tecmo and Team Ninja decided to completely nerf the entire game, the crap ton of negative reviews and Team Ninja's own incompetence convinced literally everyone else not to buy it.

I'm glad this game is going to fail.
  • So that's why they didn't include other weapons with the game. They figured out they can rip us off thanks to DLCs. GREAT thinking Team Ninja.

  • Wait people bought this game?!

  • Has anyone played the multiplayer? I'm a big fan of the series, but am very worried about this entry, but the mulitplayer seemed pretty cool. Maybe I'll rent it if it is fun.

  • So... They put in some of the weapons that were available from the start in the last game? That multiplayer looks idiotic as well, glad I made the choice not to buy this one.

  • They made a number 3?
  • Yeah, I'll pass.

  • I immediately thought of Rising Zan hahaha

  • Weapons? Oh, I was under the impression that Ninja Gaiden's focus was on chaining various combos together with different weapons, and that multiple would be included in the game. WITHOUT THE NEED FOR DLC.

  • The multiplayer looks like it was just tacked on for sales. Has anyone played it?

  • this game is a disgrace to all that is ninja gaiden

  • Hadn't they said that the weapon DLC would be free?

  • Yeah I had a terrible feeling about this game when the dev's first announced they are taking off the trademark gore and decapitations from the list and saying "we just felt like it". Maybe the original creator of the game could get away with such nondescript response but whoever took over the franchise and decided to try this from bat got it wrong.

Good thing I was never a fan of this game but I did enjoy playing it from time to time. Honestly none of the series entries had any worthwhile story (felt like your typical anime mess), and I don't think anyone cared for Ryu at all unless there was some limbs to be chopped. Now that those are gone its just left with a mess.

  • haha this is silly...

  • well, don't have to worry about it because i traded it in already, but it really pisses me off their charging for extra weapons that should've been unlocked when i started 'new game'...such BS...

  • i wasnt aware this had multiplayer...
