Ghost Recon: Future Soldier PC Release Date

We've known that Ghost Recon: Future Soldier would be releasing on May 22 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but now we know when PC players will be able to get in on the action.

The game will be available at retail and for digital download on PC on June 12. Here are a few differences between the PC and console versions of the game:

PC version features:

  • PC high standard visuals (DX11 renderer, new high-quality assets, new post process effects, multi-monitor solutions support, TriDef stereoscopic support).
  • DirectX11 enhanced: tessellation (for soft 3D models), compute shaders-based realistic lighting (for global illumination), volumetric fog.
  • Online widget: Party, Friends and Ghost Feed functionality can be accessed at any moment from any screen
  • Extended party functionality: simplified and more flexible invitation system
  • Party text chat
  • Uplay Friends system
  • Fully customizable controls for the localized keyboards

The PC version of the game will also require a one time registration with your Uplay account when you first begin playing, but after that an Internet connection will not be required to play.

  • Commenting so nobody can say first. Looking forward to playing this.
  • inb4 pc elitism flamewar.
  • can't wait, but probably won't buy it for PC.
  • coolio

  • i've been looking forward to this game despite the cheesy promo videos

  • I'm actually looking forward to this even though I'm not a huge FPS fan.
  • I got onto the Ghost Recon Online Beta. Honestly if they are similar I don't know if I would enjoy it. Which they will be similar. So I don't know how I feel about this game yet.

  • Good to know that there won't be any nasty Ubisoft DRM, I can stand a one time registration code.
  • I would get it for the PC...but third person shooters just don't feel that great on PC to me as opposed to first person shooters. It's a toss up between PS3 or 360 version for me.
  • Last time I got a ghost recon game for pc, it was not what i was expecting. I looked up gameplay, got 360 version gameplay video. "This looks awesome", I thought. So I go and download it on steam. Turns out the pc version is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAME ><. This was graw 2, it looked really good, but instead I get this *** pc only game that was *** awful. Somewhat my fault, but still I was in complete disbelief.

  • Stereoscopic? Renderer? Post process effects? DirectX11? Tessellation? Soft 3D Models? Compute shaders-based realisitic lighting? Global illumination? Volumetric fog?

    What is this? The future?
  • THIS is how you do a PC game. DX11 tesselation looks AMAZING. here is a video of it in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uavLefzDuQ

  • What the..........ooooh waffles are ready!

EDIT:PC version..............hmmm..................Screw It. much better on Xbox 360
  • This is actually good news for a game that's being released on PC second. Maybe developers and publishers are starting to see that DRM doesn't really work and just hurts people who are gonna actually buy it.
