Bungie Waves Goodbye To Halo

Bungie.net no longer handles player data for Halo titles. March 31 marked the end of an era for the studio.

"We have followed your careers with great interest here on Bungie.net, and you have gifted us a mountain of heroic moments to memorialize," Bungie said. "It is with a sense of awe that we step back and admire the impact that you have had on our games, and upon our studio.

"Thanks for sharing your stories with us."

Bungie released a massive infographic that compiled stats over the years. Click the image below to see the full-sized version.

  • I'm not sure if this list is really amazing... or really depressing...

  • k

  • Hopefully 343 comes with new ideas and make it fresh. I don't want halo 3.5 it needs to be better. And reach was the most balanced game in my opinion I hated how in halo 3 you had to get a battle rifle because all the other non power weapons were useless. It wasn't like that in reach which I appreciated. Time will tell and the yearly release thing sounds like a good way to run it into the ground just saying. I would hate to see my favorite franchise in the toilet.

  • Oh damn...

  • Bye Bungie! We will miss you ); but :)

  • I played every halo (including wars) and reach was my favorite because every game was different (mostly because of armor abilities) I got bored with halo 3 for the same reason i got bored with cod, every game on each map turned into sitting in the same spots, running for the same weapon, doing the same thing every time. Reach changed that and made every game i played and still play wholly unique.

  • Goodness that's awesome!

  • Man Halo is dead without Bungie. I just hope that the next Bungie project is going to be epic. Either its Marathon or Myth.
  • hmmm.. pretty amasing stats there.. 20million games played, pretty impressive on bungies list -i think- but 343 studios better not screw up a single thing.. but the latest improvement that i found outstanding was Halo:CE-Annaversary because while playing it was maybe a reminder of what halo really was and how it is now. The 'plot' with 343 guilty spark was very inticing when i was trying to find the 'terminals' throughout every level and unlocking a clip of guilty spark's 'goal'. i really enjoyed that perspective, and im still wondering if 343 studios are going to make a halo 2 anniversary edition i wonder?

still 343 have make that impact on halo to us as it did like halo:CE, t'would be most unpleaseing if it didnt. Bungie had its moments so we thank you for them. :)

  • Never did I play Halo, Halo 2, and really pay any attention to Halo 3 campaign but as I continue to play games I wish I did, as well as many other games.. Call of Duty distracted me for to long:(
