The lights are on
Google unleashed its April Fool's gag a little early this year. But regardless, Google Maps going 8-Bit is simply too awesome.
As seen in the video below, Google Maps has an 8-bit version complete with Street View. "In our pursuit of new digital frontiers, we realized that we may have left behind a large number of users who couldn't access Google Maps on their classic hardware," the company said in a blog post. "Surprisingly, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was unsupported, despite its tremendous popularity with over 60 million units sold worldwide."
If you want to check out Google Maps 8-bit, head over to the website and click on the "Quest" button the right-hand side.
"As the first NES cartridge to be released in nearly 18 years, we’re working hard to make Google Maps 8-bit for NES available in the Google Store as soon as possible. A mobile version for Game Boy is also under development."
Thanks to everyone for the tip
Crap, I always seem to get typhoid by the time I reach Nevada.
