The lights are on
Nadya’s Sophitia cosplay is a great example of how location and photography can complement a fantastic costume. The photos look as pitch-perfect as Nadya herself.
Who: The CharacterThe character is Sophitia Alexandra from Soul Calibur 3, the original version of the game.
Why: The DecisionI chose this character when I decided to participate in the World Cosplay Summit in Mexico City. Sophitia along with Nightmare seemed to be the best choice for the contest since they have complicated accessories and are usually popular among the public and fans. Particularly Soul Calibur is one of my favorite games in the fighting genre and I performed better using Sophitia although Cassandra was my favorite character.
What: The ProcessIt took more than four months to complete this costume. The materials were: leather for the belts, styrene for armor details, plaster & patching for other details, and car paint to give it a shiny finish. The sword is made out of pine wood. The bra was made out of thermo former and it was given a coat of plaster to provide a metallic appearance. The bra was the most difficult part due to the irregularity of the curves and forms, not to mention that it was my first time using the thermo former, but it was a fun adventure! The final cost was $350.
Where and When: The DebutThe first time I wore Sophitia was during Winterfest, a convention in Chihuahua, Chihuahua Mexico, to earn a pass to the final in the World Cosplay Summit. The photo session was taken in an ecological reserve near El Paso Texas called Hueco Tanks. We chose the setting because of the beautifully colored rocks, the vegetation, and because it’s really pretty.

Well then, I certainly had the wrong neighbors. First time I wished I was born in Mexico.
There are tailors by the dozen in most Latin American countries plus maybe she has family or friends that are tailors. Just think of how many quicianeras(sweet sixteen)(this keyboard is not set for Spanish) and the elaborate dresses they get. So it is easy for her to get the amazing costumes. And who ever does her make up is really good too. However, I saw her kasumi one and it is not the best. She is still hot tho.
This was pretty good. The details were great, and it was very classy. This outfit could have easily been raunchy or trashy due to the fact that Sophitia is a very well-endowed character and the outfit was created to accentuate that fact. However, Nadya did an excellent job of making the outfit tasteful and yet still keeping true to the character she was depicting. Great job!
