The lights are on
Jenova Chen of thatgamecompany has personally written to thank fans for their support.
Journey's creative director Jenova Chen has posted a new article to the PlayStation Blog in which he details the broad success seen by his team's new game, and speaks directly to fans of the game. "Thanks to you, Journey has officially broken PlayStation Network and PlayStation Store sales records, surpassing all first and third-party games to become the fastest-selling game ever released in the SCEA region on the PlayStation Network," says Chen.
Chen goes on to detail the overwhelming number of letters the team has received since Journey's launch, which he says outstrips the hundreds of letters they've received about Flower in the last three years.
Chen ends his post with a promise that the soundtrack to Journey is coming soon, and an art piece (below) meant as a thank you to those who've supported the game up to this point.
The thank you comes on the same day that we've learned that thatgamecompany co-founder Kellee Santiago will be leaving the studio to pursue other creative projects.

It's an engaging minimalist game symbolizing the journey of life. You can speed run it in less than 2 hours, but that really isn't the point, now is it?
I must say that is quite surprising.
Well deserved. It's a fantastic game. I'm really glad to hear they are releasing the soundtrack. The soundtrack and sound design in the game are fantastic and utterly central to the experience. I really liked the character animations and, well, I liked the whole thing.
Mmmmmmm, great job!
this whole time i thought jenova chen was a girl.
Just finished it last night. Definitely wonderful. I'm going to give it another run through after I find some herb.
soundtrack? I'll have to check that out.
I sent an email to thatgamecompany. Kellee Santiago replied. Good luck, Kelly. Spread your amazing creativity.
Absolutely deserves it. One of the best downloadable indie games I have ever played.
Well thank you Mr. Chen for making such a fantastic game!
