Someone Sent BioWare 400 Cupcakes

It seems angry Mass Effect 3 fans still want to protest the game's endings. This time they're sending the studio hundreds of cupcakes.

A user on the BioWare forums quickly organized a donation pool of over $1,000 and made a massive order of approximately 402 cupcakes from a local bakery near BioWare's Edmonton studio. "As fans, we want Bioware to do right by us, and fix the endings for Mass Effect 3. But we also want to let Bioware know, that we trust them, and have faith in them.

"Bioware has been slammed by negativity from all sides in the last few weeks. This is our way, as fans, to drive our message home, but in a (literally) sweet way. We want Bioware to add some more 'sweet' to their 'bittersweet' ending. What better way to do this than with CUPCAKES :-D."

The order has been placed and the invoice as proof was posted online (see below). The cupcakes are colored Red, Blue and Green and labeled A, B or C as a dig at executive produce Casey Hudson's statements where he said, “It’s not even in any way like the traditional game endings, where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got ending A, B, or C…The endings have a lot more sophistication and variety in them.”

  • Okay, even if I don't agree with the idea of changing the endings, that is both awesome and hilarious of fans to do for BioWare.
  • Summer can't come soon enough, I need a break from all this bullmess.

Why don't you guys just go ahead and print the endings on the front page in bold and get it over with? You (the mags, the whiners, all of you) have already done your damnedest to louse up this thing for people who don't have time to beat every game the same week it launches.

Yes we could all just not tune in, that's the goal of any major website right?
  • Cupcakes for closure! http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2012/03/27/mass-effect-3-and-corporate-influence-over-commercial-art/?utm_source=alertsnewpost&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20120327
  • Thats pretty clever

  • Wow I wonder if they eat them.
  • 1. Angry ME3 fans send 400+ cupcakes to Bioware.

    2. Devs eat lots of cupcakes.

    3. They get diabetes.

    4. ???

    5. Revenge!

    Perfect plan...
  • Now this is a pretty SWEET protest (nuck nuck nuck) It's better than filling a complaint to the FTC or ******* demanding money back from a charity. Honestly, I think people just want the ending elaborated more. Proper closure and whatnot.
  • Bribing them with food, clever lol.
  • A great protest. Hope they included a quote like "It’s not even in any way like the traditional cupcake flavors, where you can say how many flavors there are or whether you got color A, B, or C…The flavors have a lot more sophistication and variety in them."
  • This may be my favorite ME3 story :p

  • That is so awesome lol I don't want them to change it but at least they are showing what they think with sweets and not hate filled words lol. Catch more bees with honey then vinegar.
  • This is soooo exceedingly stupid...
  • So "fans" have taken to "cutesy" measures to continue their crusade to get Bioware to censor their art because a disturbed minority isn't mature enough to handle the game as is. Again, trying to force someone to comply with your view of their art is wrong, and censorship is wrong. Unless you're Tipper Gore, and you think those things are okay.
  • Awesome idea!

  • What Jim missed in this article is that people who donated to the ChipIn also can write a personal message on their cupcakes. Many have decided to make their message "These are not even in any way like traditional frostings, where you can say how many frostings there are and whether you got frosting A, B, or C.
  • So the name of the bakery is Fuss? As in, "What's all the fuss about?" Nutless cupcakes for a nutless company.
  • Wow I didn't like the ending but I'm not spending $1000 on cupcakes to protest.
  • Wow I didn't like the ending but I'm not spending $1000 on cupcakes to protest.
  • awsome. thats better than what i would have done, tee pee at leats half of the building. well it depends on how big it is.

if this actually works, why didn't shepard just give cupcakes to the reapers?
  • Yummy!
