The lights are on
Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling, better known as fourzerotwo, resigned from Activision today. He made the announcement over Twitter.
"Today, I resign from my position as Creative Strategist of Call of Duty, as a lead of Infinity Ward, and as an employee of Activision," he said.
A reason for why he left the company was not provided at this time. Activision said in a statement released to Game Informer, “We sincerely thank Robert for his many years of service. He’s been a trusted and valued member of the Infinity Ward team. We wish him all the best on his decision to pursue future opportunities.”
Game Informer followed up with Bowling for additional comments.
WHOA, I'm pretty sad he left. I wish him the best in his career.
Wow. Wonder if this will change anything in the CoD series, probably not.
It's because he's a good person and Activision is ran by scum.
Yessssss!
They wish him luck until he joins Respawn then they'll raise all hell about it lol. Wish I could say I'd miss him but I haven't touched CoD since MW2.
Now he won't get Tee-Bagged as much...
I hope that he finds a job with another company. Even if he wasn't the best at the job he had at Infinity Ward, you could tell he loved doing it. He seemed like a nice guy that genuinely loved his job.
The only guy from Kentucky on the team yet he was smart enough to leave...
Ok so MW2 is released - a large amount of staff from Infinity Ward leaves - Treyarch gets to release Black ops. MW3 is released - Bowling leaves - Black ops 2 is rumored to be released this year by Treyarch. Anybody see a trend here? I hope that Bowing takes his creative mind to Respawn. This move would create so much media buzz for the up and coming company. With Activision so focused on the $$$$$ all the time and Bowling wanting to set up Old School map packs for free.......Argument? Or decision to leave the money hungry corporate beast? I think that Bowling is looking for a way to use his creativity to develop games for us gamers rather than trying to line his pocket book with some nice green stuffing. Granted - everyone who works is there for the money, if they want to admit it or not is completely something else. "Oh, I'm here because I want to make games, its not about the money". BULLHONKY! But if your able to create a new game for the masses right after getting a profit sharing bonus.....whats the problem with that? Just to let people know all of this above is based on nothing but personal thoughts and non of it is seated in reality. Please don't go out quoting it or taking it as News. Its just my thoughts and I truly do wish Bowling all the best. I believe he has the public image and creativity, that when applied in the right direction, can boost the image of games and gamers everywhere. Good Luck Robert Bowling
Good. That guy was a deuce bag anyway.
so.....now what? no more COD? yes! finally!!!
