Angry Birds Space Breaks 10 Million Downloads Mark

Rovio launched the latest entry in the Angry Birds series just a few days ago, and it looks as though the Finnish studio has another hit on its hands. The company has announced that the game has been downloaded more than 10 million times in just three days.

Kyle enjoyed the game and its clever gravity-tweaking puzzles, and it's clear that he's far from alone.

Do you count yourself among the 10 million, or are you puzzled by its continued success?

    space.

    edit 2:

I especially enjoy the homages to Super Mario Bros, Space Invaders, and Arkanoid during the warp zone levels. Very cool.

    edit 3:

Those who don't understand why this is making such a splash should really think about what platform it is on. Doesn't anybody remember how big SNAKE was when those Nokia Brick cell phones came out and started the huge cell phone rush in the late 90s early 00s?? Everybody has a cell phone!!!! So it will be purchased.
Also, people forget what started this genre. It was not Castle Crashers or whatever... it was GORILLAZ on PC which came out like i want to say late 80s early 90s. And it was two gorillas on roof's of skyscrapers throwing banana's at each other. Then there was the big craze with GunBound in the mid 00's. This genre is very favorable. It might be different because there are no teams and you aren't going against someone but, the whole trajectory genre has been around for a while and it is very popular. so there should be no question if these numbers are confusing to some. it just tells me that those who are confused by them are too young to know what the deal is.
  • Well it's only about a dollar. Maybe even free?
  • I am mega addicted, so addicted you could call me the Charlie Sheen of Angry Birds..

  • Well... it is free on the Android Market. But I think it definitely every penny it made from the IOS store.
  • I'll stick with regular Angry Birds.

  • I am not a huge game of Angry Birds, but I really am enjoying this version
  • I am 1/10,000,000. I also bought an Angry Birds hat just out of wanting to feel like a jackass.
  • I'm puzzled by it's continued success, but I do like that this installment strays from the usual.
  • I didn't download it after I heard it was too easy and you have to pay for additional content...and that the game is incredibly short.  But that's what I was told and I've never been a huge angry birds an anyway.

  • I understand it's success. But it doesn't mean I have to enjoy it. I played so many flash games online years before this came out and I'm just not impressed at all with it. Sorry bird lovers.
  • This puts the initial sales of Skyrim to shame at under 4 million sales in 3 days. CoD MW3 sold 12 Million in about a week. I like that something can compete with CoD, which is probably known to its developers as Cash On Delivery. Skyrim, however, is really hardcore compared to AB. As for CoD... well, you probably know what me and a lot of other people think about the Madden of FPS titles. Of course, AB probably only cost like 10 bucks or something... So take that as you will.
  • I got it for free plus the extra map because i got a samsung galaxy tablet and im happy to say im loving every second of it.

  • I bought it.  WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • Puzzled. Very puzzled.

  • Thats pretty amazing!
  • Careful Rovio...you don't wanna go making Activision mad with those sales. lol. I love this game though. Can't wait for more levels
  • Angry birds is pretty fun. But I can not fathom why it is getting all this attention when these "crush the castle" clones have been around for the better part of a decade.
  • It's as good as the others are, a bit annoyed that you have to buy the third set of levels though straight after just buying the game, two sets of (Free) levels felt far too short for it having just been released.

  • (squeezes bird in this hands) tell me what you know...
