The lights are on
Junction Point Studios boss Warren Spector still desires to port the original Epic Mickey to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. During an interview at the Game Developers Conference earlier this month, we asked Spector if he considered porting the original game to other platforms at any point during its development.
“I will tell you I desperately want to do it, and other than that I have no comment at this time," he told Game Informer. “I just think it would be cool for people to see where the story started, so we’ll see."
The sequel, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, is now coming to Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
"We sold many millions of copies of [Epic Mickey] on just the Wii, and being on the Wii was great. It was a perfect way to reintroduce Mickey as a hero in video games," he added.
In 2010, Spector addressed the same question about HD ports of Epic Mickey to MTV saying it's a decision left up to Disney and that there's "nothing that would stop us from doing it."
i have two words for warren spector:
I would recommend focusing on this one, to make sure this game delivers on the series' promise, before worrying about ports.
finish this one, make a 3, then do an HD collection.....in.....better.........HD...........
Not sure how you can port up with the Wii as the lead SKU, but I'd love to try this, so go ahead.
PLEASE DO THIS!! I will absolutely buy a copy of Epic Mickey for my PS3.
I would love to play the game on the 360!!
I would totally buy Epic Mickey 1 if it was ported to the PS3 or Xbox 360.
They ported Dead Space Extraction which was just a Wii exclusive to the PS3 in HD, so makes sense to port the 1st Epic Mickey to the PS3!!!
That would be neat, I would get it if it was on the PS3! ^^
i never played the first one so i would play it if it got ported to 360
The question is, would it use Move and Kinect? I mean, the Move would be no change at all, but Kinect could get difficult.
Wouldn't be surprising to see this on PS3, a lot of Wii games made themselves onto PS3, mainly because of the Move, if they just have standard controller controls that's the only way I'd see this on 360, unless they really do manage to get this going with Kinect controls
The thing that worry's me is most games make the Xbox 360 or PS3 their lead development platform, so that they can can achieve technical relevance on the leading technical platforms. What worries me is this game is using the Wii as it's lead development platform. It is very possible that developers won't really take advantage of the technological edge of the other counsels outside of HD.
I want this to happen NOW!
good ill pick it up
I would probably purchase it on the PS3 when it dropped to about 30 or 40 dollars.
I would definitely play it!
