A Closer Look At The Last Of Us Infected

Naughty Dog has created a wonderful and disgusting-looking character bust of its infected creature from The Last of Us.

As seen below, the bust gives you a pretty good idea of how truly gross these things can be. Naughty Dog noted in our March cover story of the game that the infected won't be a common enemy type in The Last of Us. Players will instead mostly encounter other humans.

For now, there's no indication of whether or not Naughty Dog plans to mass-produce and sell the infected bust.  Then again, I don't think I'd want that thing in my apartment to begin with.

  • I cannot wait for this game! It looks awesome! Also, I'm not able to view replies in the comments. Is anyone else experiencing this or just me?

EDIT: If you have any feedback on the replies issue, send me a message please.
  • This would make a great Halloween prop.

  • It looks like coral growing out of it's face.
  • thats awesome. and it really does look like a parasitic fungus, which just makes it cooler. good to see naughty dog going for some realism in this game, just makes the whole thing cooler.
  • I think it's a chick.
  • that's disturbing but also totally awesome!!!!! like the new take on "zombies" in this game.....
  • looks delicious with some ketchup, mmmmmmmmm
  • looks friendly.....

  • Oh yea, right beside my deer head.
  • someone needs a haircut....
  • KILL IT! KILL IT WITH FIRE!
  • I just threw up a little.

  • Wow, the level of detail present is downright amazing. As much as I don't want it, I'd want it purely for the implied skill it required. Ghastly, but amazing.
  • Creepy...

  • That's gross. I'd take a zombie over fungi face any day.

  • Finally, some UNIQUE zombies....

  • I'd hit that. Nah, I kid. Looks amazing. Better than Dead Island.
  • Wow, that person has a serious case of the fungus face and gingivitis.
