The lights are on
The writing could be on the wall for Socom and MAG developer, Zipper Interactive.
According to sources at Kotaku, the developer is being hit with layoffs and project cancellations and may even face studio shutdown. Zipper’s last game was the PSone Vita title Unit 13.
We’ve reached out to Sony for confirmation, but the publisher declined to comment.

This was an obvious outcome... long time coming, really.
Somewhat disappointing, but Zipper hasn't made a quality product in years. Maybe it's just time.
I think you mean PS Vita and not PSone Vita.
i always had small hopes for MAG 2...
Zipper hasn't had a great game since Socom 2.
that's too bad but MAG was a big let down for me.
That sucks that company helped establish online console gaming with Socom and Socom 2 Navy Seals, I wouldnt have got into online gaming if not for Socom 2.
Sony Sucks
Shooters are dime a dozen these days, so it's tricky to stay afloat in this industry.
"project Cancellation"...
MAG 2?
GIVE THE ENGINE AND UNFINISHED GAME TO GUERILLA GAMES SONY AND HAVE THEM FINISH IT!
That's a shame. I was a really big fan of SOCOM 2 and 3. I didn't get a PS3, though, so I couldn't play Confronation, MAG, or SOCOM 4. From the videos I saw of SOCOM 4, though, they really stepped away from what made SOCOM such an awesome game.
:( That stinks for those laid off. Hopefully they can find new work quickly.
Buisness is a harsh mistress, you gotta make her money or get kicked to the curb.
Im somehow not surprised after Socom: Combined Assault the Socom series just went downhill and MAG just didn't live up to the hype
This would suck really bad if this was true.
