Update April 7: Bethesda still has no comment on this rumored report.

Original Story posted March 23: A rumor surfaced this afternoon that suggests Prey 2 from Human Head Studios has been cancelled.

Netherlands-based PSFocus says sources told the website that Bethesda will release an official statement next week regarding the game's cancellation. Bethesda representatives told Game Informer they have no comment on this report.

Lending credence to the rumor, the development team was originally supposed to give talks at the Game Developers Conference earlier this month about Prey 2, but they were cancelled weeks before the event.

We'll let you know if we hear anything new about its rumored cancellation.

WHAT!? This better be wrong! I thought this game looked awesome when they showed it at E3..it has been one of my most anticipated games! Oh well...at least I still have The Last of Us to look forward to.

A shame really, although it looks drastically different from that of Prey. I still would've loved the sequel and I didn't mind the new direction at all.

That really sucks, I liked the first one. It was playing with portals before Portal was. Them saying "no comment" is probably a confirmation that its cancelled. If it was still in production they would have quickly dismissed the rumor to reassure everyone.

I'm hoping this game isn't actually cancelled. I really liked the first Prey, and the sequel looked like it would be a huge step up.

I sincerely hope this isn't true. Prey was one of my favorite games of this generation and Prey 2 was looking good.

edit for update:

This isn't a good sign. When rumors of Doom 4 being cancelled hit, they quickly stated that they were false. Hopefully the game still comes out.
