Epic Mickey 2: The Power Of Two Announced

Epic Mickey is getting a sequel, and it's coming to Wii, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 this fall.

Epic Mickey: The Power of Two addresses many of the complaints the original had. Speaking to the Associated Press, Junction Point Studios boss Warren Spector said he's fixing the camera placement in the game and is adding drop-in, drop-out co-op with Mickey and Oswald, who are now teaming up for the sequel.

"We've had a team working on the camera from literally the day we finished the first game," he said. "They'll be working on it until the day we ship the second game. (There have been) over 1,000 specific changes made to the camera. Our goal is that you will not have to touch the manual camera controls even once to play through the main story path of this game." Additionally, Spector said he's adding voice acting this time and will even include musical numbers.

You can read more about Epic Mickey 2 later this week on Game Informer.

  • Me Gusta
  • If you want such a camera, ask Sony Santa Monica.

  • well I havent played the first one but seeing as you learned your mistakes from it and improving it to the sequel thats what a game is about

  • Omg... Musicals in a video game... Genius..
  • Looks like I have a new "most anticipated game" for this year.

  • The camera was never a problem for me.  It was the endless fetch quests.  If they can fix that I'll probably end up getting it.

  • Put the first on the PS3 with the second on disk, and I'll see about buying it. I don't play series starting from the middle.
  • O gee, what a surprise.

  • I still have to play the first. I should be able to find it cheap now. I already have a feeling its not as bad as people say, but we'll see
  • I haven't played the first one but I'm actually really looking forward to this one. ^_^

  • Yay! Always wanted this game, but didn't have a Wii. Looks like everyone will get the chance to play this enhanced sequel.

  • Yay!

  • It would be cool if Epic Mickey 2 had the original game packaged in for free. That way I can catch up on Epic Mickey before playing the sequel.

  • Fantastic! Glad to see a good but flawed game getting a second chance. And now in HD, with Achievements/Trophies! I wonder if the co-op is online.
  • It'd be nice if they ported the original over to the other systems, too. Or maybe offered it as a preorder bonus.

  • Is this the next cover?

  • I'm just happy it's releasing beyond the Wii.

  • Adding voice acting? I thought that was supposed to be part of the charm of the first one.

  • I'm interested. Gotta see more though.
