The lights are on
If you've been coming to Game Informer for awhile, you're surely familiar with our weekly look back at gaming's past, thanks to our Replay show. While we love this trip down nostalgia lane, we figured we should also give you a look at a new release each week. After years of auditioning Dan on Replay without his knowledge, he at last joins me for this exciting new video series, The Extraordinary Misadventures of Reiner and Dan!
In our first episode, we take a look at Team Ninja's sequel Ninja Gaiden 3. Dan played the game for review and shares his insight from the perspective of someone who has beaten the game. Join us, and please leave a comment letting us know what you think of this never-before-seen format for game coverage.
Email the author Andrew Reiner, or follow on Twitter, Facebook, and Game Informer.
Dan's acting has improved.
I'm shocked that they seriously decided to go through with the Reiner and Dan joke.
Haven't watched it yet, will later tonight and on the Youtubes but I love how Reiner kept his word. I think you should do a Reiner and whoever reviewed the game style. That way the person playing knows what their doing.
I can't tell if Dan was serious or not...
Poor Reiner. He's Burt without Erny, Simon without Garfunkel, Peanut Butter without Jam.
Well, the part of the game they played looked boring as can be.
I want Phil back!
I hope on the next episode Phil walks in on Reiner and Dan playing a game. It's just like a soap opera, only good.
NG3 doesn't look quite as bad as the reviews are making it out to be. It doesn't look GREAT, but it doesn't look terrible...I'll probably just rent it from Redbox instead of buying though.
so when are we going to see the debut of Joe and Phil?
I want more of this, it was way too short!
Holy cow that small snippet of Ninja Gaiden looked amazing! But Reiner should know that he can't fill that Phil-shaped hole in his heart with Dan. Hilarious commentary.
Forgive phil at least he's not Dan Ryckert.
I see alot of Phil love in these comments, but hey, I'm with you Reiner. Solidarity. We all saw how the treacherous Phil cheated on the Super Replay Showdown.
Phil's probably going to cry himself to sleep tonight after drinking several wine coolers.
This is great! Don't get me wrong, I love Reiner and Phil episodes, but this was a good follow through on what seemed to be an off-hand joke. Due to some of the (jokingly) negative remarks about Reiner, I must defend him as my longtime favorite editor and the most consistently creative and funny writer for GI. His articles and reviews always keep my interest and make me marvel at his incredible genius.
So, Reiner, if you're reading this, you can go ahead and just create a new position for me at GI whenever you want. I could even just be your hype man. I'll be the Flava Flav to your Chuck D. The Ed McMahon to your Johnny Carson. There could even be a Reiner and Adam show, where you play a game and I just sometimes shout out, "Yeah, boy!" or "Yes!". I can have a resume to you by this evening.
you might be jumping the shark right here
the first time.. it's sth totally excellent ...but is it worth replaying?
