The lights are on
Capcom may be regretting putting download content on the game disc for Street Fighter X Tekken.
The DLC was supposed to start rolling out this April, with the 12 additional fighters made available after the PlayStation Vita version launches this fall. Xbox 360 hackers, however, have already accessed the content and have begun playing locked fighters online. Videos are already surfacing on YouTube capturing the action (see below).
Capcom's SVP Christian Svensson acknowledged the problem and says they are working with Microsoft to track down and ban the hackers.
"Yes, we're seeing news of this. Quite ballsy for folks to be taking hacked Xbox 360s on Live where they are detectable," he said. "In any event, we already have opened channels of communication with MS on these issues Friday night. If you can capture screens or video of this in action (as some have already) we're working on bans for boxes and accounts with MS for haxxors."
Capcom previously said Blanka, Sakura, Guy, Cody, Elena, Dudley, Alisa, Bryan, Christie, Jack, Lars and Lei will all become downloadable for the console version of the game for $20.

you guys really want those characters THAT BAD?..i can understand if i get a lot of negative points for this comment but damn, it's not CAPCOM's fault that they are more greedy than other publishers..i'm gonna say it again, CAPCOM is just plain GREEDY and SMART for coming up with additional DLC ..THEY KNOW that people that LOVE the game will buy it..YES!! CAPCOM is F*** UP..but do you guys realize that the people who LOVE the game so much they are willing to pay for the extra characters EVEN THOUGH THEY DON'T LIKE PAYING FOR IT...THOSE are the type of people that you should be blaming at..STOP BUYING IT!!! if you buy the DLC and go on comment section and complain, please go shoot yourself cause YOU are the reason why CAPCOM keeps getting away with s*** like this
ahahah hilarious up yours capcom for putting stuff on the disc and locking it and then charging for it when they obviously could of put it into the game free.
At least online passes kind of made sense, but the fact that you have to pay $20 for something that is burned onto the disc you paid full price for is just insane. I don't think these people were entirely in the wrong but it's not something that I would do.
Well don't put content on a disc and then plan to sell it to people later on after they have essentially bought it. I just feel this is the worst thing in the gaming industry these days. All it does is makes people feel like they are paying for something twice, which technically you are, and it gets developers in trouble. Mass Effect 3, anyone? It would just work out better if they did away with putting DLC into a game before release. I understand having to put placeholder assets on the disc before release in order to keep file sizes small when you offer the DLC for download but I have seen DLC data on game discs before the official DLC launch in which all assets were in place just waiting for someone to essentially pay $10 for an unlock. People should not have to pay for something you can unlock yourself by altering a few lines of code.
Maybe those stupid F***s at Capcom need to realise they've been exposed and give us the things on the disc and learn from this experience. Don't make things alredy on the disc DLC or else it will bite you back at your ass.
Well I just hope that this is a lesson to all developers thinking about DLC in the future. Do it properly or not at all.
I've never been a fan of on-disc-DLC. always felt like a very cheap way of getting more out of you for content that you already have purchased
Well done the hackers, and thanks for sticking it to 'em!
Good. I'm tired of this DLC ****,either let us unlock it the right way by beating the game or completing different challenges IN GAME or don't produce it @ all. I'm not paying for it when it's already on the disc & in the game itself. It's ridiculous & insulting to us gamers/fans.
I hope this is the start of finally getting our voices heard that we're tired of this kind of business practice.
Bleh, look the hackers did wrong and deserve to be banned. But Capcom did wrong by putting it on the disc. While I won't be mad at Capcom and Microsoft for punishing these guys, I think Capcom were idiots for not realizing that people could and would find this. Apparently they think we're just a bunch of idiots. It's a lowball thing for them to do, unfortunately the only way I can punish them is not buy this game, which I was already planning on doing. These companies are completely trying to fleece us with DLC, it's getting ridiculous. DLC can be a great thing but EA, Bioware, Capcom, and too many others are just trying to turn it into a gold mine to fleece their customers. It's not right and if they think we're going to lay down and accept it they've got another thing coming.
Capcom should unlock this content for everyone who owns this game. It's not right to charge for it. They got caught with their pants down on this and should just apologize, give it to their paying customers, and learn their lesson.
wow id say they deserve it if their going to charge for a in game dlc it seems pretty messed up
