The lights are on
Publisher 345 Games has announced the release date for Deadliest Warrior: Ancient Combat. The brutal fighting game based on Spike TV's popular series is due out mid-April on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Deadliest Warrior: Ancient Combat is a retail release that bundles the content from the previously available downloadable games Deadliest Warrior: The Game and Deadliest Warrior: Legends. It also adds a new graveyard arena, 30 new weapons, and episodes of the show that are exclusive to the game. It supports cross play, so you can battle against folks who already have the downloadable versions.
Look for it April 17 on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

this has been on gamestops website for a few months, not what id call news. and first
How much whining does it come with?
Seeing the show makes me sad that this is still a thing.
eh, ill get it for the episodes.
prediction: this game is gonna blow.
So... It's being marketed as a new game, but bundles the old crap that had been released before, be it with a few add-ons? Lame.
I purchased and downloaded both games, they're alright for a bit but once you unlock every character's weapons and alternate costumes there really isn't that much to do.
Some characters are ridiculously cheap, like the Viking who can often one-shot his opponent with his double spear throw before they even have a chance to move.
The controls are pretty easy to learn but the stilted and wonky combat animations combined with the whole dismemberment/decapitation gimmick means that most fights will be won by whoever has the quicker fingers and/or sheer luck.
If you're a big fan of the show I guess you could get this collection for the bonus episodes (I admit I'm a bit intrigued myself) but sadly these games don't really do the show any justice.
The show is great, this...not so much.
i really like the show but i dont know if i will end up getting this.
I honestly thought this came out already? The games are finished - how long can it possibly take to print this stuff onto discs? Even with the added content?
Well, at least they're giving the fans without Xbox Live/PSN a chance to play the games.
is this game worth it? the show is pretty cool but i can only imagine this game with bad controls and animations. anyone own the others?
