The lights are on
A fan who wants to see the ending of Mass Effect 3 changed has taken his complaint to the Federal Trade Commission, the agency created to protect consumers.
His argument is that Bioware did not deliver on the promise of its game saying, "after reading through the list of promises about the ending of the game they made in their advertising campaign and PR interviews, it was clear that the product we got did not live up to any of those claims."
He continues by inviting others to file complaints against Electronic Arts with the FTC if they share his sentiments.

I hate the ending as much as the next guy but bothering the FTC with this? Really? The Federal Government has more pressing matters to attend to.
I'm getting tired of this. I found the ending/s intriguing and thought provoking. I may not have been "happy" about it, but it was certainly as hard-hitting as I could have ever hoped.
So called gamers annoy me sometimes with how entitled they can be.
Okay, I must do a quick rant. Can we please just call this whole thing off? I get it, I didn't like the ending either, but please people, let's leave this thing be. If Bioware does come out with DLC for a different ending, I can almost guarantee that at least 50% of the people who complained about the original ending will complain about having to buy DLC when it should have been on the disk. So let's just leave our pitchforks and torches in the shed, okay?

As a member of the Retake Mass Effect movement, I would like to point out that these complaints are the actions of individuals that thus far can be counted on one hand. They are an extreme minority, and the movement at large does not endorse their actions.
In fact if you read the pertinent threads or the comments on the Gamepur article, you will see that 90% of the posts are people telling them how childish they are.
I saw this guy post on the Bioware forums. I couldn't help but laugh at him. I know the ending wasn't exactly that great, but so many people on that forum are completely overreacting, imo.

This is only ONE PERSON, who was not affiliated with the Retake Mass Effect movement. He posted this on the BioWare forums, where his actions were immediately denounced. Please do not judge the thousands of people civilly trying to work through their issues because of one lone individual.

Well, I'm all up for EA being brought up to the FTC... but not for this. I mean, they created the games and can end them any way they see fit. You can't reprimand a company for not creating a game the way you wanted it. I was also disappointed with the ending - but there is so much good in that series, why dwell on what's bad?
We need to bring real issues protecting consumers to the FTC, like charging gamers for DLC content already included on the disc... or charging extra to play online if you're renting the game...
As another member of the #RetakeMassEffect movement, I take distance from such actions. Judging by the replies of like-minded people both here and on the BSN, we want to fight this without going as far as "Legal complaints". We are not "Raging fanboys".
This is literally the most childish thing i've ever heard.
I understand why someone would get mad, but to take it up with the FTC? That's too extreme...
