Battlefield 3 Gets A New Chiptune Soundtrack

YouTube user Omega52 finally fixed the biggest problem with Battlefield 3: the music and sound effects are too modern.

All those amazing gunfire and explosion sound effects were okay, I guess, but now you can hear the game as it was truly meant to sound: like a game that released in 1986.

Seeing that video reminds of this Half-Life modding gem, where all the sound effects are replaced by the Michael Winslow (the sound effects guy from the Police Academy films) of video game fan YouTube users.

Thanks to Matt for the news tip, who worded it best by saying, "this isn't news, but holy crap is it amazing."

    I was thinking about how I wanted to replace all of the sounds in Team Fortress 2 with me doing the sound effects and it reminded me of that Half-Life 2 video. XD

    I was a little ticked off when the Battlefield theme this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pE6MJweDscQ was turned into some dubstep mumble jumble that hardly resembled the original.

    I'd play Battlefield a lot more often if these sound effects were on the Xbox version.

    Idk... I thought that the theme of BF3 was going to be replaced with chiptunes, I was kinda disappointed.


    Also, now I want to listen to System of a Down. Because of that second video.
