The lights are on
Microsoft said today there are no plans to unveil its next Xbox at E3 this June.
Ryan James, Group PR Manager for Microsoft Studios, said in a statement sent to Game Informer, "While we appreciate all the interest in our long-range plans for the future, we can confirm that there will be no talk of new Xbox hardware at E3 or anytime soon.
"For us, 2012 is all about Xbox 360—and it’s the best year ever for Xbox 360. The console is coming off its biggest year ever—a year in which Xbox outsold all other consoles worldwide."
Sony president Kaz Hirai said in early January the company has no plans to unveil its next console hardware at E3, either.
Their is still a lot to get out of my XBOX360!
Scotty! I need more power!
This made me extremely dissapointe, i mean by e3 Xbox 360 will be almost 8 years old, we need new things. After Halo 4 you won't be able to expand on the graphics or scale, the isn't anymore juice left in the system!
so if they are focusing on 360 for 2012, that is money that we spend on (the games are great by the way) more games and/or add-ons. which i think we could be saving for microsofts next big system, but i guess if you have the money, spend it. i definitely dont..i will stick to BF3 and MW3.
Kind of disappointed, hopefully they something I care about to show at E3 besides Halo 4....I could careless about anything Kinect related
They have to show the next Xbox somethime. Geez...
Yes, I think the 360 is getting to the point where the games comeing out for it are truely pushing its processing limits. I cant wait to see what microsoft comes out with next, but as always... the more processing power the more the buyer has to pay for it! Keep up the incredible user satisfaction MS!
I'm just going to say this to everyone. If you really think about it, what are the three major companies' biggest focus right now? Media, motion controls, feeling like you're part of the game, etc. I really have no interest in these aspects. I enjoy the way games are now with an old fashioned controller. If I wanted life-experience in a game, I wouldn't need to play games. Games to me are about laying back, having fun, and communicating with friends. I have no interest in being "part of" the game. So my speculation on the next generation of video games is this: the consoles are going to be media-based with less emphasis on video games and more on everyday living (not to mention some kind of motion-based accessory). I really just want to play a console the way it's meant to be played, for the video games. Just remember guys that they are trying to focus more on casual audiences now. That's what brings in the $$cash$$. The fact is that casual audiences > video game audiences. I'm sorry that you guys have to face the facts.
Eh...only problem with the new XBox that Microsoft has confirmed that there won't be an Optical Drive on the new one. Which is the biggest mistake in history. If they don't change their minds. They will lose people big time. Even then the XBox 360 still in fact has power left in it. It hasn't reached the end of its total life time. Hell the PS2 was still active until 2009. Well beyond what people thought and there still good graphic games on it.
Now XBox wise...they just dropped it right as soon as the XBox 360 game out...and I feel that I'd go back to Sony or worse Nintendo if they keep the whole idea of not putting in an Optical Drive. I like having a physical copy of a game in my hand and also they are thinking about what has been done with PCs and ruin the Used Game market...boy Microsoft is going to kill gaming. WE NEED TO STOP THEM!
they probably won't start announcing a new console till next year. This year they will probably be mostly about halo4 and whatever retarded games they have on the kinect coming out. Next year they will probably announce it same with sony and the ps4, and spend a year to market it.
Maybe next year?
New Xbox or not, I am more interested in what Nintendo are offering. even if Microsoft revealed a new console it'll be a while before I purchase it. same with Sony.
thank (a) god. im glad to hear this i for one am definitely not done with my 360.
Lame. I want to see the new systems already. Im ready to get my hands on them.
