The lights are on
A petition to change the endings to Mass Effect 3 has raised $40K in just one day.
The petition, dubbed Retake Mass Effect, is a Child's Play donation drive which hopes to bring positive attention to the situation. "We would like to dispel the perception that we are angry or entitled," the group said. "We simply wish to express our hope that there could be a different direction for a series we have all grown to love." All the money donated goes directly to Child's Play, which provides video games for the patients at Children's Hospitals worldwide.
The petition asks BioWare to make a number of changes to Mass Effect 3's endings, including:
The donation period ends April 11.
BioWare's Casey Hudson recently responded to the criticisms about the game's endings saying, "I didn’t want the game to be forgettable, and even right down to the sort of polarizing reaction that the ends have had with people–debating what the endings mean and what’s going to happen next, and what situation are the characters left in"

Eh, I'm ok with this. The money is going to child's play so that's a good thing. Actually makes a sad situation into happy one.
Well, at least it's for a good cause.
How bad is the ending? Wait, I'm going to finish it tonight and find out for myself.
i havent finished yet... stupid school.
I don't know whether this is too far or a really good idea, I mean that ending was pretty darn bad for such a powerful series and really screwed up what we knew about the games universe, so I really wouldn't mind an extended DLC with a more clear ending, besides this helps children s hospitals!
Its about time. Hope this actually works.
I wouldn't go so far to "demand" Bioware to change the ending, but what they said in the past (regarding the ending) does not match up to what was given. Every choice, which was said by Bioware to affect the end-game, means nothing.
The game itself is great, and I think it deserves its high review score. The ending, though, just seems to run counter to all the decision-making leading up to it.
Why dont't we show Bioware how bad the ending was by....not giving them way more money? I mean honestly they're already wringing you guys for DLC that was more than likely cut from the product, and ending the game with a request to buy MORE DLC. Just stop giving them attention.
