The lights are on
We miss the Japanese feudal action of Capcom's Onimusha series, and we're going to miss it even more now that the company has announced Onimusha Soul for PC browsers and smartphones.
The game casts players as daimyo (a feudal lord) in Japan's warring states period, and the RPG allows co-op as well as competitive play with Capcom's Unity 3 engine.
Onimusha Soul appears on June 28 in Japan for PC and this fall for smartphones. Although there's nothing stopping U.S. fans from hitting the site when the game comes out, knowing Japanese will separate the competent players from the clueless.

I'll reserve judgment until I get a chance to play it, but my hopes are not high.
it could be good, but at the same time it's not a full blow 'nother game.
i might check up on this, i nvr played it and will now.
glad i know some japanese. thank you anime.
I'd all but given up on a new addition to this series... and I doubt this will do justice to the previous games in any way. I hope I'm wrong but... not very confident in this idea.
I'm not going to get my hopes up, but I'm definitely going to check this out when it releases. It's been too long since the last Onimusha game.
This sounds cool. I wonder if I'll have to resort to Google Translate to translate the Japanese text in the game. I wish there was some more description about the game itself in this article and a little less complaining about how it's only coming to browsers and smartphones.
Um.... It oughta be on a console than PC and smartphones.

boo. there better be a console game coming with this.
I hope this is the first step there doing so they can bring back this ip. Onimusha was one of my favorite game series of last gen.
Just gimme an HD remake. :D
My heart sunk when I saw that it was a browser game, but Unity engine is a legitimate engine. There's still a chance that this will be a good game.
Onimusha 2 is one of my all time favorite games. And the entire series is great. I really wish Capcom would bring a full fledged game back, instead of some of their recent games. I mean, most of their recent games arent bad, but i get excited thinking about the possbilities of a current gen Onimusha.
