Weekend Warrior 03/09/12

by Ben Reeves on Mar 09, 2012 at 01:00 PM

Mass Effect 3 just came out, what do you think we’re doing this weekend? The answer is not sleeping.

Joe Juba: This weekend is all various forms of Mass Effect 3 for me. I'm on the home stretch of the single-player campaign, so I'm going to polish that off. Then I'll probably immediately start an insanity playthrough with the same character (I'm not picking up any of my other old characters until BioWare fixes the awful import problem. When I need a break from playing solo, I'll keep trucking on the multiplayer so I can buy more veteran packs. I want that Krogan soldier so badly.

Ben Hanson: I’m sorry for not being original or interesting, but I’m hoping to blast through a healthy portion of Mass Effect 3 on Saturday. After a hesitant first couple of hours I’m finally starting to get absorbed into the grand finale here. I would imagine that I’ll be playing more League of Evil 2 for the iPhone, which I’d argue is the best and tightest platformer available on iOS. Some more time will also probably be spent with a top secret Nintendo game for the 3DS. Have a good weekend!

Phil Kollar: I'm having an RPG weekend! I'll continue my playthrough of Mass Effect 3. I'm almost 20 hours in and hoping to wrap up this weekend, but I keep getting distracted from my end goal by the game's many sidequests. I'll also continue work on the seemingly never-ending but incredibly awesome Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii. What a great weekend!

Kyle Hilliard: It’s Mass Effect 3 weekend in my house, but I am almost done with Uncharted 3, so I may try to knock that out first. I’ve also begun watching Game of Thrones, so I hope to make some progress into that as well. There may also be a visit to a zoo, but nothing is certain.

Matthew Kato: Like pretty much everyone else here and all points in between, I'll be playing Mass Effect 3 this weekend. I'm curious how exactly I'll tackle it. Multiplayer? Core story missions punctuated by the odd side quest? Side missions only? I don't think I'll have too many long stretches of time to play the game, so I have a feeling it'll be a lot of side missions. This weekend the Gophers will be playing in the WCHA first round vs. Alaska Anchorage, so that's going to eat up a good chunk of time. Go Gophers!
