Vita Gets Metal Gear Solid HD Collection This Summer

by Joe Juba on Mar 09, 2012 at 06:56 AM

Gamers already knew about the existence of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on Vita, but Konami hadn't announced any specific North American release info. That changed today when the company revealed that Snake and Raiden will hit your Vita in a matter of months.

Unfortunately, the collection is undergoing one major change from its console iteration: Peace Walker is no longer a part of the package. Instead, the collection only contains Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, though Konami says that the games contain "optimized controls designed to take full advantage of the PlayStation®Vita system touchscreen capabilities." Uh-oh. I hope they're better than Snake Eater 3D's "optimized controls."

Even without Peace Walker, though, those are two great games in one package. If you didn't (or couldn't) play the HD Collection when it hit consoles, then this will be a good opportunity to give your Vita a workout.
