Datura: A New Move Title For PSN

Remember the PlayStation Move? Fish it out of the closet because Plastic Studios, the creators of Linger in Shadows, have created a Move title for PSN called Datura.

Not much is known about the title, but Michal Staniszewski, game director at the developer, says it's about presenting hard choices to players. "While taking inspiration from film-like narratives," he tells the official PlayStation Blog, "Datura is a story you get a chance to physically participate in. As you travel through the game, you will encounter choices and face your consequences. It is through these puzzles that Datura explores an element of anxiety: was it a right choice or a wrong choice?"

Before we get to the gut-wrenching decisions, however, the game starts out in a forest. Of the environments and gameplay itself, Staniszewski says that game has an "experimental narrative and original way of interaction, which enables you to experience the world not only visually, but also empirically — an illusion that you can actually touch trees, faces, and other objects." Sounds interesting.

We'll be curious to see what the title is all about when we can get our hands on it.

  • I've played plenty of games that say that your choice impacts the way the rest of the game pans out but, never really saw a difference in game play so I'm hoping that this one stands out above the rest.
  • hope its action packed.

  • Hmm I do like the sound of this game. I would like to see how these choices actually impact the game and the consequences given. Many games try to add choice/consequence to their gameplay and narrative, but few succeed with any real depth. It would be nice if this game could deliver a true experience in that sense, and if it does I'm all for it!

  • This game is going to be amazing. There's a video for it on IGN. Check it out everyone.

  • does anyone still own the Move? I held off buying it and ended up completely forgetting it existed.
  • i think i remember seeing a tech demo of this.  sounds like it can be loads of fun.

  • when I read " Plastic Studios, the creators of Linger in Shadows, have created a Move title for PSN called Datura" I decided not to buy this game. Linger in Shadows wasn't a good game (in my opinion).
  • I honestly thought they had stopped supporting the move but what I want to see on it would be Resident Evil 6 the controls were so perfect on RE4 Wii Edition.
  • Sounds really interesting. Still need to pick up the move stuff... I'm going to shortly tho.

  • I never purchased a Move. But I doubt I'll be missing out.
  • I feel stupid sometimes. Ya know? The technology involved in the Wii or the Move...hell even the Kinect is neat. You would think with such tech it would be possible to make a full-on game with all the bells and whistles. Years later though there is still not one RPG I know of with those functions fully implemented. I would like more than a FPS to try. Even those don't go all the way with it every time though. Kinect voice commands are impressive, but the PS3 could do that too. Why they don't, I dunno. We all wanted it on the Wii; didn't happen. Some had high hopes for the Move; didn't happen. Am I alone with these thoughts? I'd like to know.
  • if this was "call of duty 59: more of same" this article would have a hundred comments by now.

  • I still haven't jumped in with the Move yet.  Looking for the right game(s) to get me interested.  Could this be it?

  • Am I the only one who paid 2.99 for Linger in Shadows just for the trophies? :(

  • Sounds pretty cool.

  • Heck, even though I think the Move is garbage, at least Sony supports the damn thing all the time. There are always new games that support it, especially core franchises...With Kinect, all we get is voice commands (which could easily be done with just a headset, just look at Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2) and some mini-game gimmicks. They both suck. When is Sony and Microsoft just going to accept that and move on? Seriously.
  • I'm seeing a lot of comments about no good games for the Move, but I've gotta say that Sports Champions has been the one good game that made it worth it for me, and it's actually a collection of fun games.  At any time I can shoot arrows, fight with a sword and shield, play ping pong, play disc golf, play volleyball, and even the bocce ball game is fun.  For someone like me who can't afford all that stuff in real life, the game is a great deal and helps keep me in shape while having fun.  So that's my two cents.

  • Could be good.

  • I wish the kinect mic functions could be used with the playstation eye...
