Gadgets To Be Introduced In Jetpack Joyride’s Biggest Update Yet
Halfbrick Chief Creative Officer Luke Muscat hosted a GDC session today about the iOS updating process, and it coincided with the announcement of Jetpack Joyride’s biggest update yet. During the session, he mentioned that it’s much harder to update Halfbrick games like Jetpack Joyride and Fruit Ninja than it is to release more content for level-based games like Angry Birds and Cut the Rope. Despite the difficulty, the 1.3 update for Jetpack Joyride will be releasing this April.
New to the in-game store is a gadgets section featuring three bonuses for our hero Barry Steakfries. Air Barrys are special sneakers that allow the player to leap quickly over obstacles, and Free Ride grants you with a vehicle from the very beginning of a run. The description of the third, Ezy-Dodge Missiles, is less clear: “If you’re going to play a game of chicken with a missile, make sure it’s an Ezy-Dodge!”. Perhaps it makes incoming missiles slower or easier to avoid?
