The lights are on
The Smiths, one of the most beloved British bands of all time, have received the 8-bit treatment thanks to a very talented Soundcloud user. While 8-bit remakes of popular songs are hardly rare, this one is exceptionally well done.
Soundcloud user "lazyitis" has transformed the band's classic single "This Charming Man" into an NES era number. It's great, and we'd hope the band's controversial frontman Morrissey would think so, too. But he probably doesn't. Here's to you, Moz!
You can listen below, and I've also included a video of the original song for comparison's sake. Enjoy.

I liked Death Cab for Cutie's version best... until now. =)
I like the 8-bit version better than the actual song... I think I will put it in my IPod Nano.
Just makes me want to listen to the original version.
D-O-P-E....nice work!!!

One of the best songs by my favorite band redone in one of the most interesting and personally nostalgic genres out there. Helgeson this is why you're my favorite games journalist!
Such a great song, and this is a pretty cool version of it.

Haha I love the 8-bit version!
Great cover! Thanks for sharing :)
Nice.
Mass Effect three and this. My day just keeps getting better and better.
I have little to no interest in the original, but the remix is pretty cool.
This is so great!
Is it bad that I like the 8 bit version more?
lol. This is pushing it on being gaming news, but I'll take the excuse to hear a cool chiptune remix.
