The lights are on
The publisher is apparently so happy about the engine that powers Battlefield 3 that it is creating a whole studio focused on exploiting the technology.According to an invite sent out to Game Developers Conference attendees, EA Gothenburg is being introduced at a meet-and-greet this week in San Francisco as the company tries to lure talent to the new studio. The first title Gothenburg will be developing is being kept behind a non-disclosure agreement that prospective job seekers are required to sign at the event on Wednesday.More Frostbite 2 engine games is something we can get behind; Battlefield 3 certainly didn't suffer from a lack of visual quality. What are you hoping that EA makes with the technology?
An action adventure like portal would be pretty awesome looking. Or a mirror's edge sequel
I expect good things to come out of this. Now that this top-of-the-line engine has its very own studio, it should yield some great games in the near future.
The Frostbite Engine is so sexy. I wonder what games EA Gothenburg will pump out. All I know is that whatever game they decide to make will have breathtaking graphics.
Pretty sure I heard another need for speed is in the making.
Why would you make an entire division dedicated to something that will get old quick. Unless this company will also build knew graphics engines like Frostbite 3. I would like Minecraft done with Frostbite. In a future apocalypse setting.
