Meh, not big on the setting if it is a Doom game. Prefer the spooky, more sci-fi setting of Doom 3. Reminds me more of RAGE meets Silent Hill and. Frankly post-apocalyptic is starting to become played out, much like zombies.

So I suppose if Doom 3 was a "soft" remake of Doom 1, Doom 4 must be covering the same territory as Doom 2: Hell on Earth? Id Tech 5 still looks gorgeous-ish. The tech is great, but the art is just "dark" and "gritty" - not really the kind of stuff to show off beauty. Some of these look as good as Rage, others look like... I dunno...Fear 3, though. I wonder if this is even actually Doom 4? I mean, taking it out of military installations...it kind of looks like it's "just another shooter" now. I mean, how many FPS' take place in ruined cities? ALL of them, perhaps? Especially now that everyone is chasing Call of Duty, *sigh*. Add more fire and brimstone, id. And satanic symbols and stuff. And "Eldritch Abominations" (link:http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EldritchAbomination)These locales look too bland right now.

Like the article says, Bethesda hasn't denied the screens, so there is a possibility of these being true. Unless the game's been in development for some time, I doubt it'll make this gen or it'll be at the end of it given id's track record. Though I'm not a really a fan of id to be honest so I'm meh on a Doom 4.

Hopefully it's not Rage 2, that game was a waste of my time and money.

Doom? This certainly doesn't look like Doom at all. Not sure why anyone would think it does. As far as I know, Doom is in the future? This is too close to modern day.

I wish they'd make Doom a bit more into an open world adventure instead of being so linear. Something more akin to Fallout 3 but perhaps less RPG centric (although I wouldnt mind some RPG flare). But it would be amazing to walk around a post apocalyptic world, except the twist would be, hell has invaded.
