Mass Effect 3 Pre-Orders Exceed Expectations
Electronic Arts claims its trilogy-ending sci-fi opus is on pace to outdo the previous installment in pre-order sales.
MCV spoke with Electronic Arts' product manager Will Graham recently, and learned that Mass Effect 3 is well on track to have a strong start at retail. "Currently our pre-orders have broken the targets set, we are well ahead of where we were at the same point with Mass Effect 2 and we have all of the platforms aligned for launch, which is a first for the Mass Effect franchise,” Graham said.
Based on the bevy of high-end advertisements Electronic Arts has been producing regarding Mass Effect 3, it's clear that the publisher has high hopes of courting both the core audience of long-time fans as well as the broader mainstream gaming audience. While it remains to be seen how the final sales figures will look, it's getting harder to imagine that Mass Effect 3 won't be a roaring blockbuster when it releases on March 6th.
