Concept Art For Visceral's Jack The Ripper Game Surfaces

Visceral Games never announced a Jack The Ripper game was in development, but new concept art suggests the rumors were accurate.

The game was rumored to come to Xbox Live and PlayStation Network as far back as 2010, but to date EA has not mentioned the project publicly. Now, former Visceral Games concept artist "Joebot" recently published artwork on his website giving a glimpse at the style Visceral was likely aiming for.

The team recently hired Guerrilla Games co-founder Arjan Brussee for an unannounced project.

  • I like the art style, what Visceral did with Dead Space I hope this game does great.

  • It's time for Jack to let her Rip!!! ...oh wait. That's that other game.

  • do want
  • I doubt Ill buy this but you never know what the finish product will be like.

  • I'd like that clock tower one as a wallpaper.

    Edit: Done and done.
  • Awesome, i hope it's not a sidescroller or anything like that

  • Hope it is better than Dante's Inferno...

  • Am I hunting Jack the Ripper? Because I don't want to play as some crazy rapist-murderer.
  • Mod
If they're aiming to have the game's style look like that, I'm sold. Really want to see what they have planned for this. A lot of potential here for them to do something different.
  • This is the game being worked on the Visceral studio that closed? So the game's cancelled then? That's a shame.

  • Sadly, I'm getting a God of War clone vibe from this.

  • If that silhouetted style is what the in-game graphics are supposed to look like, I will definitely buy this.

  • I wonder what one will actually do in this game, I can't imagine they would seriously make a game where the objective is to murder poor women that society generally doesn't give a sh#!t about.

  • Might have been interesting if it wasn't Visceral.
  • So, Jack the Ripper versus Demon Lord, ummmm, Staff Guy?

  • That first image looks like Shank....

  • if the game play mechanics are solid than this could be a great game

  • The art style looks cool.

  • This is my cue to rage about the moral choice systems in games. Yes multiple choices are interesting, but giving the choice between good and evil... In both Spider-man: Web of Shadows and InFamous (and many others) you have many opportunities to makes a "good" choice or a "bad" choice. Those choice are so ridiculously bipolar, for example choosing between saving venom and savagely murdering him, or healing a civilian and zapping them to death. There are even games that exclusively focus on the evil ethic such as Overlord or all the gang and mafia games like Saints Row. Why are the videogame companies promoting evil in the first place? Yes some gamers ARE evil, psychopaths exist in every class or clique, but why nurture this defect? This is not a demographic they should be catering to. In my opinion you would have to be a very sick person to want to glorify, and play as, someone like Jack the Ripper.
  • Love the art but, playing as a guy who murdered three people then went on with his life?
