Medal of Honor: Warfighter Revealed

The next Medal of Honor game is coming this October.

According to the latest issue of the Official Xbox Magazine, the game is called Medal of Honor: Warfighter. The sequel to the 2010 reboot is again being developed by Danger Close studios and follows the story of Tier 1 Operators. Multiplayer is being developed in house this time, not by DICE.

The game also uses the Frostbite 2.0 engine, the same engine that powered Battlefield 3.

EA will have more to show at the Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco next month. In the meantime, check out the new OXM for more details, interviews, and screenshots.

The first image of the game was posted on the official Medal of Honor website today.

  • I can't wait for the next game! Medal of Honor: Pull the Gun's Trigger to Shoot
  • I knew this was going to happen. I called it awhile back that EA was going to be rotating Battlefield and Medal of Honor. They really want that FPS crown, don't they?

Let's hope that the Frostengine looks a little better this time around. I thought it looked downright "meh" on consoles=/
  • I hope they do better this time, it'll be tough to separate from Battlefield and Call of Duty.
  • I'll give it a shot. Hopefully they've learned their lesson from the last one.
  • I might have considered buying this if Dice was developing the multiplayer. But I'm definitely not touching this now.
  • I really liked the Medal of Honor! Despite all the bugs and lack of polish I really enjoyed it. I hope they can polish this one up nicely!

Edit: Good to know other people liked it as well!
  • yeah!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Another military shooter yay

  • So what is going to separate Medal of Honor and Battlefield?
  • meh
  • So, is this EA's new strategy? Release Battlefield one year, then next year a Medal of Honor? If they do this, they're are so going in COD's direction.
  • I'm at the point where a World War 2 setting would be refreshing for a military shooter series.

Also, I'm done with modern military shooters, with perhaps the exception of the next Ghost Recon, but I'm not sure yet if it can be put in the same category. Looks to be going in a more pureform Metal Gear direction of tactical espionage gameplay.
  • Why does it have to be developed on Failbite Engine 2.0? It sucks on consoles and on PC as well.
  • k
  • The first one was ok,Hoping this one is 2x better!

  • No thanks. They let me down big time with the last Medal of Honor game. They sat there straight faced and talked about how great everything was going to be, how amazing the single player was and how addictive the multiplayer was. I'm not even joking in the least, they sat there and told every journalist who asked that Medal of Honor was going to amazing...

When we got the game, we were greeted with a glitchy, boring, lazy, repetitive, unoriginal, super short copycat single player campaign with multiplayer that didn't do one single little thing new or fresh. Nope. They're never getting my money again for any Medal of Honor game. It is one thing to be positive about the game you're making, it's another to outright lie about it at every opportunity.
  • I heard that the last Medal of Honor wasn't too good, so I'm skeptical on this. I hope the plot is solid enough for me to keep an eye on, as I feel that modern shooters are getting a little bit tedious for me as of late.

  • Hell yes! I quite enjoyed the remake of Medal Of Honor so I'm glad it's getting a sequel. On a side note, what's up with the name? You telling me they couldn't come up with something more awesome then "Medal Of Honor: Warfighter?"
